An experience of hen-egg membrane as a biological dressing

Burns, 1982
Abstract The use of the hen-egg membrane as a biological dressing is reported here. The results are satisfactory compared with the other kinds of biological dressing materials. It is worthwhile to emphasize that this membrane is inexpensive and easily obtained upon requirement. There are several study reports regarding effects of biological dressing

Characteristics and Uses of Biologic Dressings and Skin Substitutes

Archives of Surgery, 1984
Biologic dressings used for temporary coverage of open wounds exert both mechanical and physiologic effects by protecting the wound, maintaining microbial control, and hastening wound maturation. Synthetic wound dressings modeled after the biologic dressings have been evaluated by several investigators.

Self-Adaptive Wound Dressings for Wound Healing and Repair.

Advances in Materials
Skin plays critical roles in defending against external threats and maintaining homeostasis. However, wound repair is frequently impeded by infection, oxidative stress, and chronic inflammation, especially in pathological conditions.

Pigskin xenograft as biological dressing in radical vulvectomy

Gynecologic Oncology, 1984
Wound infection and breakdown constitute the most common complication of radical vulvectomy and groin lymphadenectomy. The use of pigskin xenograft as biologic dressing when the skin edges cannot be closed primarily without tension after radical vulvectomy and groin lymphadenectomy is described.

pH factors in chronic wound and pH-responsive polysaccharide-based hydrogel dressings.

International Journal of Biological Macromolecules
Chronic wounds present a significant healthcare challenge marked by complexities such as persistent bleeding, inhibited cell proliferation, dysregulated inflammation, vulnerability to infection, and compromised tissue remodeling.

Photopolymerized multifunctional sodium alginate-based hydrogel for antibacterial and coagulation dressings.

International Journal of Biological Macromolecules
Trauma caused by tissue damage in clinical applications has posed a serious threat to public safety. Dressings with a single function cannot meet the needs of wound healing, but multifunctional dressings are difficult to achieve and obtain.

Honey: A Biologic Wound Dressing.

Wounds : a compendium of clinical research and practice, 2016
Honey has been used as a wound dressing for thousands of years, but only in more recent times has a scientific explanation become available for its effectiveness. It is now realized that honey is a biologic wound dressing with multiple bioactivities that work in concert to expedite the healing process. The physical properties of honey also expedite the

Amniotic membrane as a biological dressing in the management of burns

Burns, 1989
This report details observations in 90 patients with dermal depth burns treated using amniotic membrane. The patients were divided into three subgroups: superficial dermal, intermediate dermal and deep dermal burns diagnosed clinically. All patients were dressed with amniotic membrane which was changed daily.
