Radiation‐Resistant Bacteria Deinococcus radiodurans‐Derived Extracellular Vesicles as Potential Radioprotectors

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
Deinococcus radiodurans‐derived extracellular vesicles (R1‐EVs) provide radioprotection against total‐body irradiation‐induced acute radiation syndrome in mice. R1‐EVs mitigate oxidative damage by scavenging free radicals, promoting intestinal repair, enhancing hematopoietic function, and modulating immune responses. This study highlights the potential

A Fourfold Pathogen Reference Ontology Suite [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv
Infectious diseases remain a critical global health challenge, and the integration of standardized ontologies plays a vital role in managing related data. The Infectious Disease Ontology (IDO) and its extensions, such as the Coronavirus Infectious Disease Ontology (CIDO), are essential for organizing and disseminating information related to infectious ...

Deriving Conceptual Data Models from Domain Ontologies for Bioinformatics [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2006
This paper studies the role that ontologies can play in establishing conceptual data models during the process of information systems development. A mapping algorithm has been proposed and embedded in a special purpose Transformation-Engine to generate a conceptual data model from a given domain ontology. In addition, this paper focuses on applying the

Mechanically and Chemically Defined PEG Hydrogels Improve Reproducibility in Human Cardioid Development

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
Synthetic matrix metalloproteinase (MMP)‐degradable polyethylene glycol (PEG)‐based hydrogels are developed to investigate the influence of mechanical and biochemical cues on cardioid development. Matrix stiffness and cell adhesion motifs significantly regulate cardioid formation, chamber morphogenesis, contractile function, and cardioid transcriptome.

Cell-ontology guided transcriptome foundation model [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv
Transcriptome foundation models TFMs hold great promises of deciphering the transcriptomic language that dictate diverse cell functions by self-supervised learning on large-scale single-cell gene expression data, and ultimately unraveling the complex mechanisms of human diseases.
