In this study, eight different surface water resources located in five villages of Golcuk, Kocaeli-Turkey, were tested between 2007 and 2008 to determine the biological oxygen demand (BOD5), chemical oxygen demand (COD) and pH values. Temporal variation in these parameters reflects changes in precipitation.
