ABL kinase‐dependent phosphorylation of SH proteins promotes their direct interaction with CRK family SH2 domains

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
CT10 regulator of kinase (CRK) and CRK‐Like (CRKL) are signaling adaptors driving cell adhesion, motility, differentiation, and proliferation. SH2‐domain containing (SH) proteins are enriched in YXXP motifs which when phosphorylated create preferred binding sites for CRK family SH2 domains.

Design and Evolution of Engineered Biological Systems [PDF]

open access: yes, 2005
Poster presented at the 2005 ICSB meeting, held at Harvard Medical School in Boston, MA.To date, engineered biological systems have been constructed via a variety of ad hoc approaches. The resulting systems should be thought of as pieces of art. We are

Soil as a biological system

open access: yes, 2002
Soil plays a fundamental and irreplaceable role in the biosphere because it governs plant productivity of terrestrial ecosystem, allows the completion of the biogeochemical cycles and microorganisms inhabiting soil degrade, sooner or later, all organic compounds including those more recalcitrant.

The role of miR‐335‐5p in the redifferentiation of BRAF p.V600E thyroid cancers

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
The BRAF p.V600E mutation promotes thyroid cancer dedifferentiation and radioiodine resistance. Using a network approach, we identified miR‐335‐5p as a key regulator of BRAF‐mutated thyroid tumors. Restoring miR‐335‐5p increased thyroid‐specific gene expression and iodine uptake in cells and organoids.

Managing Biological Networks by Using Text Mining and Computer-aided Curation

open access: yes, 2015
In order to understand a biological mechanism in a cell, a researcher should collect a huge numberof protein interactions with experimental data from experiments and the literature. Text miningsystems that extract biological interactions from papers have

TRAIL‐PEG‐Apt‐PLGA nanosystem as an aptamer‐targeted drug delivery system potential for triple‐negative breast cancer therapy using in vivo mouse model

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Aptamers are used both therapeutically and as targeting agents in cancer treatment. We developed an aptamer‐targeted PLGA–TRAIL nanosystem that exhibited superior therapeutic efficacy in NOD/SCID breast cancer models. This nanosystem represents a novel biotechnological drug candidate for suppressing resistance development in breast cancer.
