The enzyme kinetics of branched‐chain fatty acid synthesis of metazoan fatty acid synthase

open access: yesProtein Science, Volume 34, Issue 8, August 2025.
Abstract Branched‐chain fatty acids (BCFAs) exhibit enhanced oxidative stability, lower melting points, and reduced viscosity compared to straight‐chain fatty acids (StCFAs), making them valuable for biological systems and industrial applications.

Application Of Intuitionistic Fuzzy Topsis Model For Troubleshooting An Offshore Patrol Boat Engine [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
In this paper, an Intuitionistic Fuzzy TOPSIS model which is based on a score function is proposed for detecting the root cause of failure in an Offshore Boat engine, using groups of expert’s opinions. The study which has provided an alternative approach

Immunosuppressive Cytokine‐Tethered Hydrogel for Treating Rheumatoid Arthritis

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, Volume 14, Issue 19, July 28, 2025.
An injectable hydrogel is developed by chemically tethering IL‐4, an immunosuppressive cytokine, to a hyaluronic acid‐based backbone. The hydrogel reduces joint friction and exerts immunomodulatory effects. In a rheumatoid arthritis (RA) mouse model, it reduced inflammation, preserved cartilage, and promoted anti‐inflammatory immune responses.

Experimental evaluation of biolubricant with additive nanoparticle calcium carbonate (CaCO₃) from scallop shell waste as cutting fluids using minimum quantity lubrication (MQL) in CNC milling process [PDF]

open access: yesFME Transactions
Nano-cutting fluid sprayed using the minimum quantity lubricant (MQL) method is one example of a green manufacturing process. Meanwhile, vegetable oil is an appropriate lubricating base oil as it offers very high lubricating performance and environmental

Friction and wear phenomena of vegetable oil based lubricants with additives at severe sliding wear conditions [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
The tribological responses of palm oil and soybean oil, combined with two commercial antiwear additives (zinc dialkyl dithiophosphate and boron compound), were investigated at a lubricant temperature of 100 °C and under severe contact conditions in a ...

Characteristics Biolubricant Enriched with Nanoparticle Additives: a Review [PDF]

open access: yes, 2020
The engine movement mechanism is a system composed of machine elements that contact or rub against each other between these surfaces. Surfaces that rub against each other will cause a friction force that causes wear on the surface, so it requires energy ...

The Fusion of Elemental Sulfur With Waste Cooking Oil‐Based Derivatives: Beyond Renewability

open access: yesEuropean Journal of Lipid Science and Technology, Volume 127, Issue 7, July 2025.
The fuse of two waste streams, elemental sulfur and waste cooking oil, is enabled by Inverse Vulcanization. The process might ensure the closed‐loop production of polymeric materials for a wide range of applications, beyond its sole potential renewability.

Review on Synthesis Methods of Carbon Nanotubes as Activated Carbon Composites Based on Biomass for Supercapacitors in Electric Vehicles

open access: yesEnergy Technology, Volume 13, Issue 7, July 2025.
This work reviews various methods to synthesize carbon nanotubes and analyzes the best methods to produce composites for supercapacitors for electric vehicles. Chemical vapor deposition is found to be the best method because the produced CNTs can be used directly without purification unless the catalyst particles need to be removed.
