Activated carbon briquettes from biomass materials

Bioresource Technology, 2007
Disposal of biomass wastes, produced in different agricultural activities, is frequently an environmental problem. A solution for such situation is the recycling of these residues for the production of activated carbon, an adsorbent which has several applications, for instance in the elimination of contaminants.

Physical Quality of Some Biomass Briquettes

Journal of Agricultural Engineering (India), 2007
This paper deals with the effect of material and concentration of binders on the physical quality of biomass briquettes. The briquettes were prepared using tree leaves, saw dust and wheat straw. Two binding materials namely, molasses and sodium silicate at varying concentration were used in the preparation of briquettes.
