Preparation of fuel briquettes from plant biomass
Solid Fuel Chemistry, 2017The applicability of fallen leaves as a raw material for the production of solid briquette fuel was assessed. In the course of a laboratory study performed with the use of the raw material gathered within the city of Novosibirsk, test samples were obtained and their properties were characterized.

Equilibrium moisture content of biomass briquettes
Biomass and Bioenergy, 2004Abstract Equilibrium moisture content (EMC) of commercially available biomass briquettes at 40–85% relative humidity was compared with the EMC of cotton stalks and saw mill waste. No significance difference in EMC was noticed at relative humidity value up to 70%.

Biomass briquette manufacturing system model for environment
Journal of Alloys and Compounds, 2016Abstract India depends mainly on indigenous coal for its power generation and imported oil for its transportation needs. Most of the energy needs of rural poor are met by burning wood and other biomass in the least efficient manner adding to the GHG emissions.

Direct reduction of mixed biomass-Fe2O3 briquettes using biomass-generated syngas
Renewable Energy, 2011Abstract This paper presents a novel ironmaking technology using biomass and iron oxide. The biomass instead of coke was mixed together with iron ore powder, water, limestone and bentonite for the production of Fe2O3 briquettes. The sintering process and direct reduction of briquettes were simultaneously conducted in the same reactor. Briquettes with

Biomass Carbonization, Briquetting and Briquette Characterization: A Review
Briquetting is a contemporary means of converting waste biomass into a high calorific value solid fuel through densification of biomass-binder mixture. The process of briquetting is carried out in different ways depending on the type of biomass, binder or desired properties of the briquettes, the economic value and heating efficiency of the biomass as ...Maposa, Munashe +6 more

Production and Characterization of Coal-Biomass Briquettes
2014Roll press briquetting of coal-biomass mixtures presents a significant opportunity to address feedstock challenges associated with co-utilization of coal and biomass in existing coal-fired facilities. However, several technical and economic barriers require further investigation prior to industrial utilization of coal-biomass briquettes. The scientific
