An Integrated Data Analysis Using Bioinformatics and Random Forest to Predict Prognosis of Patients With Squamous Cell Lung Cancer

open access: yesIEEE Access
Lung cancer is the leading cause of cancer death worldwide, regardless of gender. Among the types of lung cancer, Lung Squamous Cell Carcinoma (LUSC) is the second most common type, characterized by a diagnosis in advanced stages, a poor prognosis, and a

ExMODE: A comprehensive resource for extremophile genomic and functional exploration

open access: yesiMetaOmics, EarlyView.
ExMODE (https://db.genomics.cn/exmode/) integrates 3518 samples to build a unified extremophile resource, which hosts 1.35 billion habitat‐specific non‐redundant genes, 5.25 million representative protein structures, 67,026 metagenome‐assembled genomes (MAGs), and 164,132 biosynthetic gene clusters (BGCs). By combining sequence‐, structure‐, and genome‐

Spatial Patterns of Seed Plants and Their Conservation Priorities in Jiangxi Province, China 中国江西省种子植物的空间格局及其保护优先区

open access: yesIntegrative Conservation, EarlyView.
We comprehensively evaluated the seed plant diversity of Jiangxi province to address the regional biodiversity conservation of Asian subtropical evergreen broad‐leaved forests (EBLFs). Higher species diversity of seed plants was observed in eastern, southern, and western Jiangxi, with elevation and precipitation as mainly environmental factors.

An Exploratory Comparative Analysis of Mixed Reality Simulation Versus 3D‐Printed Models for Undergraduate Training in Third Molar Removal

open access: yesJournal of Dental Education, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Purpose/Objectives To compare the effectiveness of MR simulation and 3D‐printed models in training undergraduate students in wisdom tooth removal, and to assess students’ perceptions of the MR simulator. Methods Students trained first on either the MR simulator or 3D‐printed plastic models and then repeated the training using the other method ...

Unravelling complex interactions during Toxoplasma, Plasmodium, and Leishmania co-infections in French Guiana

open access: yesScientific Reports
Toxoplasma gondii, Plasmodium spp., and Leishmania spp. collectively infect billions and cause millions of deaths worldwide. In French Guiana, the geographical coexistence of malaria, acute toxoplasmosis, and cutaneous leishmaniasis may result in ...

Land‐Atmosphere Coupling Is Associated With Severer Vegetation Productivity Losses During Compound Dry‐Hot Events in Drylands

open access: yesInternational Journal of Climatology, EarlyView.
Compound dry‐hot events (CDHEs) exerted severer damage on vegetation productivity for temperate shrublands, savannas and grasslands in drylands. Land‐atmosphere coupling was associated with severer negative impacts of CDHEs through soil moisture–temperature feedback, especially for dry‐event‐leading CDHEs.

Diversity and distribution of aquatic insects in Southern Brazil wetlands: implications for biodiversity conservation in a Neotropical region

open access: yesRevista de Biología Tropical, 2012
The selection of priority areas is an enormous challenge for biodiversity conservation. Some biogeographic methods have been used to identify the priority areas to conservation, and panbiogeography is one of them.
