Cerium Oxide Nanoparticles Achieve Long‐Lasting Senescence Inhibition in an Aging Mouse Model of Sarcopenia via Reactive Oxygen Species Scavenging and CILP2 Downregulation

open access: yesSmall Science, EarlyView.
The structure of synthesized cerium oxide nanoparticles (CeNPs) reveals antioxidative properties. CeNP reduces reactive oxygen species and shows good biocompatibility in muscle satellite cells. CeNP‐treated mice exhibit long‐acting anti‐sarcopenic effects through improved muscle mass and strength.

Gill evolution in Neotropical electric fishes: Comparative phylogenetic evidence for hypoxia‐driven adaptation

open access: yesFunctional Ecology, EarlyView.
Read the free Plain Language Summary for this article on the Journal blog. Abstract Tropical freshwater fishes are often exposed to hypoxia, which limits aerobic metabolism and drives the evolution of diverse physiological, behavioural and morphological adaptations.

Kinematics and directionality of body turning in water striders (Gerris argentatus) on the water surface

open access: yesInsect Science, EarlyView.
This graphical abstract illustrates the kinematics and directionality of body turning in water striders (Gerris argentatus). The top image shows a water strider making turns, with arrows indicating possible directions and a dashed line tracing its path, highlighting its dynamic turning capabilities.
