ECG Electrodes for Smart ECG Monitoring for biomedical applications

2019 Third International conference on I-SMAC (IoT in Social, Mobile, Analytics and Cloud) (I-SMAC), 2019
There has been an expeditious rise in various complicated and vulnerable diseases in the world today. The most critical set of diseases are Cardiovascular Diseases (CVDs). CVDs are affecting a lot of population present across the globe. As these diseases are unpredictable in nature, medical facilities and diagnosis should be made more prompt and ...

Applications of Miniature Electrodes to Biomedical Studies

1985
Beginning in the 1970s our laboratory began applying modern electroanalytical techniques to problem-solving in neurochemistry and neurobiology--particularly the determination of biogenic amines and related substances both in vitro and in vivo. The in vivo approach utilizes very small graphite electrodes implanted in brain tissue to directly detect ...

An Electrode Impedance Balanced Interface for Biomedical Application

2017
This work reports on the design of an electronic interface performing biomedical signal measurements. The proposed system involves three functional blocks: two leading electrodes, the signal conditioning front-end and a feedback circuitry. In particular, the latter is able to balance the electrodes impedance mismatching so to reduce the noise ...

Ultra-violet (UV) curable hydrogels for biomedical electrode applications

Proceedings of 18th Annual International Conference of the IEEE Engineering in Medicine and Biology Society, 2002
UV curable hydrogel formulations based on a photoinitiated polymerization cross-linking process have been prepared and cured. The chosen system is found to result in a high degree of polymerization with significant attendant adhesive characteristics. A degree of control of the effective UV-curing of the photo-reactive hydrogel system is found to result

Fabrication of arc-shaped 3D electrodes for biomedical devices

2013 IEEE/ASME International Conference on Advanced Intelligent Mechatronics, 2013
We developed a simple, low-cost and novel method for constructing three dimensional (3D) microelectrodes in biomedical devices by utilizing low melting point metal alloy. Three dimensional electrodes have unique properties in biomedical applications such as cell lysis, electroporation, dielectrophoresis, and detection.

Characterization of alternating current impedance properties of biomedical electrodes

Journal of Central South University, 2013
To study the alternating current (AC) impedance properties of Ag/AgCl electrocardiograph (ECG) electrodes, the electrode pair was gel-to-gel connected, and then the electrical potential was recorded after a safe stimulating current passes through the electrode pair, so the AC impedance data of ECG electrodes were obtained.

Analog Front End for Capacitive Electrodes in Biomedical Applications

48th ICT and Electronics Convention MIPRO 2025
Capacitive non-contact electrodes have emerged as a promising solution for biomedical applications, particularly in electrocardiogram (ECG) monitoring, due to their ability to measure bioelectrical signals without direct skin contact. Despite their advantages, weak signal levels and high susceptibility to noise remain significant challenges, limiting ...
