Instrumented Analysis of the Sit-to-Stand Movement for Geriatric Screening: A Systematic Review

open access: yesBioengineering, 2020
The Sit-to-Stand (STS) is a widely used test of physical function to screen older people at risk of falls and frailty and is also one of the most important components of standard screening for sarcopenia.

Self-Applied Electrode Set Provides a Clinically Feasible Solution Enabling EEG Recording in Home Sleep Apnea Testing

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2022
Home sleep apnea testing (HSAT) without electroencephalography (EEG) recording is increasingly used as an alternative to in-laboratory polysomnography for the diagnosis of obstructive sleep apnea (OSA). However, without EEG, electrooculography (EOG), and

ATF4‐mediated stress response as a therapeutic vulnerability in chordoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
We screened 5 chordoma cell lines against 100+ inhibitors of epigenetic and metabolic pathways and kinases and identified halofuginone, a tRNA synthetase inhibitor. Mechanistically halofuginone induces an integrated stress response, with eIF2alpha phosphorylation, activation of ATF4 and its target genes CHOP, ASNS, INHBE leading to cell death ...

Vital Sign Monitoring Using FMCW Radar in Various Sleeping Scenarios

open access: yesSensors, 2020
Remote monitoring of vital signs for studying sleep is a user-friendly alternative to monitoring with sensors attached to the skin. For instance, remote monitoring can allow unconstrained movement during sleep, whereas detectors requiring a physical ...

Recurrent cancer‐associated ERBB4 mutations are transforming and confer resistance to targeted therapies

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
We show that the majority of the 18 analyzed recurrent cancer‐associated ERBB4 mutations are transforming. The most potent mutations are activating, co‐operate with other ERBB receptors, and are sensitive to pan‐ERBB inhibitors. Activating ERBB4 mutations also promote therapy resistance in EGFR‐mutant lung cancer.
