Learning from nature to reconcile economic upgrading with biodiversity conservation? Biomimicry as an innovation policy [PDF]
One of the most important challenges of the 21st century is the quest for development models that enable to sustain livelihoods while respecting the planet’s ecology. Rather than imposing our industrial systems on nature, why not let nature influence our

Biomimicry levels as design inspiration in design
The relationship between design and nature has been intertwined for the past 400 years. Throughout history, designers have adopted nature to build shapes, forms, and ornamentation without understanding nature's behavior biomimicry.

Biomimicry for coastal eco-cities: towards a carbon neutral Dover, UK [PDF]
In 2004, the 30-year update to the 1972 report ‘The Limits to Growth’ has reiterated the Malthusian proposition that current industrial practices could lead to a sudden and uncontrollable decline in population and industrial capacity.

Three‐dimensional bioprinting transforms breast cancer modeling from simple constructs into spatially organized, multicellular, perfused, and patient‐derived platforms. This review shows how bioinks, cellular composition, architecture, and flow govern tumor behavior and drug response, while revealing why complexity alone is insufficient without ...

Advances and Perspectives in Graphene‐Based Quantum Dots Enabled Neuromorphic Devices
Graphene‐based QDs are zero‐dimensional carbon nanomaterials with pronounced quantum confinement and tunable electronic structures. Herein, we summarize their synthesis strategies and functionalization methods, and highlight their functional roles and operating mechanisms in devices, as well as recent advances in neuromorphic electronics. We anticipate

In Situ Programmable Modulation of Hydrogel Stiffness for Stage‐Adaptive Bone Regeneration
Near‐infrared (NIR) irradiation triggers Ca2+ release from thermoresponsive nanocarriers, enabling in situ stiffening of an adaptive hydrogel from a soft to a stiff state, thereby sequentially supporting mesenchymal stromal cell stemness and osteogenic differentiation for stage‐adaptive bone regeneration.
