Ptychographic analysis of human bone marrow‐derived mesenchymal stem cell morphology: The impact of cell senescence

open access: yesJournal of Microscopy, EarlyView.
Abstract Mesenchymal stem cells (MSC) undergo replicative senescence, a state of irreversible cell cycle arrest that limits their utility in regenerative medicine applications. To identify novel markers of senescence useful to enhance the quality of MSC‐based therapies, we compared young and senescent human bone marrow‐derived mesenchymal stem cells ...

Redefining cancer photodynamic therapy with gold nanoparticles

open access: yesPhotochemistry and Photobiology, EarlyView.
Gold nanoparticle (AuNP)‐based photodynamic therapy (PDT) uses light to increase reactive oxygen species (ROS) production for effective cancer therapy. AuNP‐PDT systems are targeted to tumor tissues, and upon light irradiation, produce ROS to cause cellular damage and apoptosis.

Field erosion protection of tidal beach: Comparison and synergy between sulfide aluminum cementing materials and biomineralization materials

open access: yesCase Studies in Construction Materials
The imbalance of sediment transport under the influence of the marine dynamic environment leads to the gradual erosion of the sandy beach. In this paper, a field verification to overcome the issue of coastal erosion affecting the sandy shoreline by two ...
