Comparing parameter-reduction methods on a biophysical model of an auditory hair cell

open access: yesPhysical Review Research
Biophysical models describing complex cellular phenomena typically include systems of nonlinear differential equations with many free parameters. While experimental measurements can fix some parameters, those describing internal cellular processes ...

Membrane Fusion‐Mediated Cytosolic Delivery of Threose Nucleic Acids via Homotypic Nanoparticles Overcomes Drug Resistance in Triple‐Negative Breast Cancer

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study introduces a biomimetic “nanofusion” platform that integrates the biostability of threose nucleic acids (TNA) with homotypic cell‐membrane cloaking to combat drug‐resistant TNBC. By leveraging a non‐canonical membrane‐fusion pathway for direct cytosolic delivery, the platform bypasses endosomal sequestration. To achieve potent AKT2 silencing

A Phase‐Resolved Geometric Deep Learning Framework Maps Structural Determinants of Disease‐Associated Protein Aggregation and Guides Suppressor Design

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
SKALE 2.0 maps disease‐associated protein aggregation as a phase‐resolved structural process, linking mutation‐induced geometric perturbations to nucleation, elongation, and suppressor design. Across neurodegenerative proteins, the framework reveals cryptic aggregation vulnerabilities, separates phase‐concordant and phase‐switching mutations, and ...

Second harmonic generation confocal microscopy of collagen type I from rat tendon cryosections

open access: yes, 2006
We performed second harmonic generation (SHG) imaging of collagen in rat-tendon cryosections, using femtosecond laser scanning confocal microscopy, both in backscattering and transmission geometries.

Assessment of the impacts of the desertification process in the Western Seridó by biophysical and social indicators

open access: yes, 2022

Beyond Potency: Emerging Determinants and Optimization Strategies Enhancing Therapeutic Efficacy of Adult Stem Cells

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Adult stem cell therapy requires more than high in vitro potency. This review proposes a systems framework in which cell‐intrinsic programs, instructive microenvironmental cues, and pre‐/post‐delivery engineering are co‐designed under standardized translational rules.

Potential and Limitations of Multi-Temporal Earth Observation Data to Improve Modeled Results of Tree Species Distribution in Mexico

open access: yes, 2009
The study explored the potential of multi-temporal remote sensing data for distribution modeling of selected tree species belonging to the genera Pinus spp. (pine) and Quercus spp. (white oak) in Mexico. Several environmental predictor data sets at 1

AI‐Assisted Digital Single‐Molecule Activity Tracker for Decoupling Intrinsic Heterogeneity from Photo‐Oxidative Damage in High‐Photon‐Flux Enzymology

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Employing a digital single‐molecule activity tracker (dSMAT), this research demonstrates that high‐photon‐flux irradiation drives progressive oxidative scarring in polymerases. Unlike simple thermal denaturation, real‐time kinetic tracking dynamically visualizes enzymes degrading into multiple impaired subpopulations.
