A polymer stereocomplex is defined as a stereoselective interaction between two complementing stereoregular polymers, that interlock and form a new composite, demonstrating altered physical properties in comparison to the parent polymers. The main interactions, resulting in the complexation, are suggested to rely on stereoselective van der Waals forces.

Study on Biopolymers and Biopolymer Blends/Composites
2021With the growing concern on the environmental status due to the over usage of non-degradable plastic materials, most of the researches as well as the industries, are now exploring the possibilities of degradable polymers that can potentially replace those materials. Fortunately, our ecosystem consist of countless renewable resources than can rely upon,

Torsional Relaxation for Biopolymers
Journal of Computational Biology, 1998We describe a method for making natural, physical movements in a chained polymer by sequentially adjusting a few neighboring torsion angles in the polymer backbone. In addition to being very fast and easy to implement, the method is also very general. It applies equally well to proteins and nucleic acids.

Piezoelectricity of biopolymers
Biorheology, 1995The piezoelectricity of semicrystalline biopolymers was first discovered for wood and bone in the 1950's. Piezoelectric properties have since been investigated for a number of biological substances, including polysaccharides, proteins and deoxyribonucleates. The shear piezoelectric constants -d14 = d25 were determined for their oriented structures with
