Assessing D‐Squame as a Minimally Invasive Technique to Evaluate the Cutaneous Immune Response mRNA in a Dog Model of Canine Atopic Dermatitis

open access: yesVeterinary Dermatology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Canine atopic dermatitis (cAD) is a multifactorial, inherited skin disease, estimated to affect ≤ 15% of dogs. Studies of skin messenger mRNA in cAD currently use invasive methods, including blood sampling and biopsy collection, whilst advances in human atopic dermatitis study methodology have demonstrated reliable use of minimally ...

The Economics of Liver Fibrosis Diagnosis: Systematic Review of Non‐Invasive Test Cost‐Effectiveness

open access: yesLiver International Communications, Volume 6, Issue 4, December 2025.
ABSTRACT Hepatic diseases progress silently, leading to fibrosis, cirrhosis, and hepatocellular carcinoma. Although liver biopsy remains the gold standard for fibrosis assessment, it is limited by invasiveness and sampling variability. Non‐invasive liver tests (NILTs) can mitigate biopsy‐related risks.

Radiomics approach to distinguish between well differentiated liposarcomas and lipomas on MRI

open access: yesBJS (British Journal of Surgery), Volume 106, Issue 13, Page 1800-1809, December 2019., 2019
The distinction between well differentiated liposarcomas and lipomas is needed in order to provide the correct treatment approach for patients with these tumours, but is difficult to make without a biopsy. This study shows that radiomics can be used to make this distinction based on routinely obtained MRI. The resulting radiomics model performed better

Excision of both pretreatment marked positive nodes and sentinel nodes improves axillary staging after neoadjuvant systemic therapy in breast cancer

open access: yesBJS (British Journal of Surgery), Volume 106, Issue 12, Page 1632-1639, November 2019., 2019
Replacing axillary lymph node dissection with less invasive axillary staging procedures in patients with clinically node‐positive breast cancer treated with neoadjuvant systemic therapy is debated. Implementation of several different less invasive procedures is ongoing at some centres.
