To VAE or not to VAE: outcomes of radial scars/complex sclerosing lesions and papillary lesions without atypia in the King's College Hospital breast service (2017–2023)

Radial scars/complex sclerosing lesions (RS/CSL) without atypia have a low upgrade rate (1%) and could possibly be monitored radiologically, thus avoiding excision. Papillary lesions without atypia have a higher upgrade rate (4%) and should continue to undergo vacuum excision until we better understand these heterogeneous lesions.

Intraoperative hepatic ultrasonography in patients with gastrointestinal and pancreatic neuroendocrine neoplasms without preoperative evidence of liver metastases

Abstract In patients with gastroenteric and pancreatic neuroendocrine neoplasms (GEP‐NENs), the risk of liver metastases is high, but the accuracy of standard imaging for detecting small hepatic nodules is limited. This raises concerns about the adequacy of staging in cM0 patients.

Herpesvirus Simplex Virus‐1 Exploits Inflammation to Infect Periodontal Stem Cells and Disrupt Lineage Commitment

HSV‐1 infects oral mesenchymal stem cells both in vitro and in vivo to dysregulate their lineage commitment. An inflamed gingival environment increases susceptibility to HSV‐1 infection, which further elevates proinflammatory cytokine levels and exacerbates alveolar bone loss.
