An Assessment of Bior Wavelet Decomposition's for Image Compression

Proceedings of the 2018 International Conference on Communication Engineering and Technology, 2018
Compressing image using standard wavelet transform may not yield optimal results due to the limitations on wavelet bases. For astronomical images, computational constraints for signal processing and transmission require having an appropriate technique with least computational cost.

Image-Denoising Based on Bior Wavelet Transform and Median Filter

2012 Symposium on Photonics and Optoelectronics, 2012
The median filter is a common filter, which can get a good result with impulse noise, but it can't work well with Gauss noise. At the meanwhile wavelet transform can remove Gauss noise efficiently. In this paper, combined with Biorthogonal wavelet transform and median filtering, an efficient image-denoising method was presented.

BioR Medication in the Combined Treatment of Chronic Tonsillitis in Children

2016
Chronic tonsillitis therapy is directed towards normalizing the immune status of the organism, however conservative treatment does not provide conclusive results in this direction. 29 children with compensated chronic tonsillitis received standard conservative therapy and BioR medication.

Design and Investigation on Bioinverter and Bioring-Oscillator for Dielectrically Modulated Biosensing Applications

IEEE Transactions on Nanotechnology, 2017
In this work, an inverter-based biomolecule detection strategy has been introduced for dielectrically modulated biosensing applications that show a clear output logic-state transition after conjugation. Subsequently, a bioring-oscillator has been realized based on such bioinverters, where biomolecules can be detected from the oscillation frequency ...

The BIORES-21 Survey: Insights Into Remote and Online Education in Biomechanics and Mechanobiology

Journal of Biomechanical Engineering
Abstract The COVID-19 pandemic necessitated mainstream adoption of online and remote learning approaches, which were highly advantageous yet challenging in many ways. The online modality, while teaching biomedical engineering-related topics in the areas of biomechanics, mechanobiology, and biomedical sciences, further added to the ...

Protection of Six-Phase Transmission Line Using Bior-6.8 Wavelet Transform

2020
In this study, the Bior-6.8 wavelet transform (BWT) is employed for fault recognition and defective phase recognition in the six-phase transmission line (SPTL). The BWT has been widely explored using the MATLAB model of SPTL. The fault currents measured by the current measurement blocks connected at bus-1 of the SPTL are entered to the BWT algorithm ...
