Identification of Genes Involved in Resistance to Flavescence Dorée Disease of Grapevine: A Model Study Using Arabidopsis thaliana

open access: yesMolecular Plant Pathology, Volume 27, Issue 5, May 2026.
Arabidopsis thaliana genes conferring resistance to flavescence dorée (FD) phytoplasma were identified, revealing vector‐independent defence mechanisms and providing potential targets for breeding FD‐resistant grapevine. ABSTRACT Flavescence dorée (FD), caused by FD phytoplasma (FDp) and transmitted by the leafhopper Scaphoideus titanus, is a ...

The overview of the BioRED (Biomedical Relation Extraction Dataset) track at BioCreative VIII

open access: yes, 2023
Abstract The BioRED track at BioCreative VIII calls for a community effort to identify, semantically categorize, and highlight the novelty factor of the relationships between biomedical entities in unstructured text. Relation extraction is crucial for many Natural Language Processing (NLP) applications, from drug discovery to custom medical solutions ...

Roll with the punches: Fibroblast growth factor 10 alleviates pyroptosis of alveolar epithelial cells in different immune niches

open access: yesClinical and Translational Medicine, Volume 16, Issue 1, January 2026.
Our study reveals a marked decrease of serum FGF10 levels in ARDS patients, correlating with P/F ratio, hospitalisation days and mortality rates. We clarify how FGF10 prevents AECs' pyroptosis triggered by different immune cell infiltrations in different ways.

Ru(II)‐Catalyzed Transfer Vinylation of Alcohols

open access: yesChemSusChem, Volume 18, Issue 24, December 13, 2025.
The first example of Ru‐catalyzed transfer vinylation of alcohols is reported. The reaction uses ethyl vinyl ether as the vinylating agent and solvent, only requiring the catalyst and substrate as additional components. This protocol has been successfully applied to the vinylation of primary and secondary alcohols. The procedure has been scaled to 12.6

The Role of Machine Learning in Addressing Antibiotic Resistance: A New Era in Infectious Disease Control

open access: yesMicrobiologyOpen, Volume 14, Issue 6, December 2025.
Artificial intelligence accelerates the discovery of new antibiotics by rapidly analyzing vast chemical libraries to combat antimicrobial resistance effectively. AI systems predict antibiotic resistance trends, helping researchers design targeted therapies, and prevent the spread of multidrug‐resistant infections. ABSTRACT Antimicrobial resistance (AMR)

Identifying the Growth Factors for Improving Neointestinal Regeneration in Rats through Transcriptome Analysis Using RNA‐Seq Data

open access: yesBioMed Research International, Volume 2018, Issue 1, 2018., 2018
Using our novel surgical model of simultaneous intestinal adaptation “A” and neointestinal regeneration “N” conditions in individual rats to determine feasibility for research and clinical application, we further utilized next generation RNA sequencing (RNA‐Seq) here in normal control tissue and both conditions (“A” and “N”) across time to decipher ...

Engineered Probiotics Mitigate Gut Barrier Dysfunction Induced by Nanoplastics

open access: yesAdvanced Science, Volume 12, Issue 22, June 12, 2025.
Intestinal barrier stability is vital for gut health. Plastic polyethylene terephthalate (PET) disrupts this barrier, causing inflammation and infections. This study encodes transforming growth factor‐β into EcN and modifies its surface with pH‐responsive polymer (EcNT@L), creating an oral drug delivery system to repair nano PET‐induced intestinal ...
