This study describes surface-assisted (SurfAst) urethane polymerization, providing a modular/postfunctionalizable, biorepellent, electroactive ∼10 to 100 nm-thick polyurethane (PU) interface on a gold surface. SurfAst is a functionalization methodology based on sequential incubation steps of alkane diisocyanates and alkanediol monomers.

The extract of Nicotiana tabacum L. var Virginia origin of Ponorogo (EHRE‐Nt) was applied under field conditions against the coffee borer beetle Hypothenemus hampei (CBB). Three extract formulations containing 150, 300, and 450 ml of EHRE‐Nt in 100 liters of water were prepared and sprayed on 0.5 hectares each.
