Independent component extraction methods in biosignal processing
The 26th Annual International Conference of the IEEE Engineering in Medicine and Biology Society, 2005The paper discusses methods for independent source identification within multiple channels electroencephalographical (EEG) signals recordings. The focus is to compare the independent component analysis (ICA) technique to a novel proposed method for individual components separation - the phase space method (PSM).

Biosignal and Image Processing in Telemedicine
2022Bio-signals are signals that are recorded from the human body which can be electrical (e.g., ECG), electroencephalogram (EEG), electromyogram (EMG), and so on. Analyzation can be carried out by storing these signals, which will be helpful for monitoring.

Conference state estimation by biosignal processing
CHI '04 Extended Abstracts on Human Factors in Computing Systems, 2004This paper discusses a conference state estimation method that uses only biosignal processing; linguistic understanding is avoided. In conventional dialogue communication research, the physiological characteristic of "entrainment" between the participants has been already reported.

Feature Reduction in Biosignal Processing
2008Feature reduction is common in biosignal analysis, especially in case of quantitative EEG analysis. Mostly, summation in the spectral domain is applied to reduce the number of estimated power spectral density values, which gains between four and twelve band power values.

Recording and Processing of Biosignals
2011Measuring is the experimental determination of a measured value by quantitative comparison of the measurand with a comparison value. The measured value obtained by this procedure is given as a product of a numeric value and a dimensional unit. It can be recorded continuously as a temporal variation of a physical value or discontinuously at particular ...

BioKIT — real-time decoder for biosignal processing
Interspeech 2014, 2014We introduce BioKIT, a new Hidden Markov Model based toolkit to preprocess, model and interpret biosignals such as speech, motion, muscle and brain activities. The focus of this toolkit is to enable researchers from various communities to pursue their experiments and integrate real-time biosignal interpretation into their applications.
