Olive pomace was evaluated as a feed component for rearing BSF larvae in industrial scale. The presence of olive pomace did not affect larvae or frass composition, even when frass was submitted to heat treatment or pelletization. Bacterial and fungal communities were affected by olive pomace.

Toward enhanced nutrient circularity: Lessons from a multidisciplinary conference
Abstract The global agricultural sector faces the challenge of ensuring food security while minimizing the environmental impact of conventional practices. Waste‐derived fertilizers have gained attention for their potential to enhance nutrient circularity, yet regulatory, environmental, and agronomic barriers hinder widespread adoption. To address these

Applicability of the Caenorhabditis elegans survival, growth and reproduction test to assess the effects of biosolids used in agriculture [PDF]
Modern high productivity agriculture has led to an impoverishment of nutrients and organic carbon in field soils, and as a consequence plants nutrition complements like fertilisers or wastes have to be used to keep high yield. These complex materials can

MOBILITY OF NONSTEROIDAL ANTI-INFLAMMATORY DRUGS IN SOILS WITH AND WITHOUT AMENDMENT OF BIOSOLID
Nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs are widely used by humans as therapeutic agents to treat or prevent illnesses. Once ingested, part of them is excreted and enters the wastewater treatment plants generating biosolids that they may be used as ...

Steady‐State Anaerobic Co‐Digestion of Aqueous Condensate From Municipal Sludge Pyrolysis
Anaerobic digestion of aqueous pyrolysis liquid (APL) was achieved despite its toxicity challenges. Optimal retention time, loading and acclimated inoculum improved APL conversion to methane. APL ozonation enhanced methane production, reaching 98% of theoretical yield.
