Oxidation reactions with oxygen and peroxides are difficult to control in the artificial environment of man-made chemistry. This makes oxizymes, i.e. oxidative enzymes that use oxygen or peroxide as co-substrates, very valuable targets for the chemical and pharmaceutical industries.
