Single mutations to tyrosine or glutamate improve the crystallizability and crystal diffraction properties of a flexible two‐domain protein

open access: yesActa Crystallographica Section F, Volume 82, Issue 1, Page 4-13, January 2026.
In its wild‐type form, the flexible two‐domain protein InlB392 yielded poorly reproducible crystals that diffracted to low resolution. Single surface substitutions to tyrosine (T336Y) or glutamate (V333E) yielded well diffracting crystals, suggesting that surface properties, rather than interdomain flexibility, might be the primary impediment to ...

Extracellular Vesicles Favor Early Peripheral Immunosenescence Through Modulation of the Senescence‐Associated Secretory Phenotype in HIV Infection

open access: yesAging Cell, Volume 25, Issue 1, January 2026.
The senescence‐associated secretory phenotype (SASP) is one of the main factors contributing to immunosenescence in chronic HIV infection. Extracellular vesicles (EVs) present in the plasma of chronically infected people living with HIV (PLWH) represent an important mechanism for inducing SASP, particularly IL‐6 expression in peripheral cells.
