Bacterial biovolumes: appreciation criteria of trophic conditions in aquatic environments
1996With the development of epifluorescence microscopy, current advances in methods of direct determination of the number of bacteria and their biovolume make possible a more systematic use of parameters that integrate the concept of size. Several projects describe the relation between cell size and other microbiological and abiotic parameters.
