Versatile Palladium‐Catalyzed C‐H Arylation of Fluoroarenes with 2‐Chloropyridine Derivatives

open access: yesChemistry – A European Journal, EarlyView.
Direct C─H arylation of fluoroarenes with 2‐chloropyridines is enabled by a simple Pd/SPhos system in isopropyl acetate. The method uses inexpensive reactants and shows broad scope and high yields. DFT computations explain reactivity and selectivity.

Accessing Sn≥2 States of a TADF Emitter by Femtosecond NIR Spectroscopy

open access: yesChemistry – A European Journal, EarlyView.
The depicted thermally activated delayed fluorescence (TADF) emitter was studied by femtosecond near‐infrared (NIR) spectroscopy. A prominent NIR transition was shown to be strongly solvent‐dependent, with implication for intersystem crossing in the compound.

Advances in polychlorinated biphenyls degrading bacteria of Burkholderia xenovorans LB400

open access: yes, 2020
Burkholderia xenovorans LB400 is a strain of polychlorinated biphenyls degrading bacteria PCBs. This organism also cooxidizes chlorinated biphenyl (CB) congeners containing from one to six chlorine substituents.

Monosubstituted N‐Arylhydroxylamine Chemistry: Integrating Contemporary Synthetic Approaches for the Efficient Construction of Diverse Heterocyclic Scaffolds

open access: yesChemistry – A European Journal, EarlyView.
Monosubstituted N‐arylhydroxylamines represent a unique subclass of hydroxylamines that act as pivotal intermediates in redox transformations and as versatile platforms for further synthetic transformations. They serve as key building blocks in the synthesis of architecturally complex heterocycles and other valuable organic compounds.

Synthesis and Functional Properties of Fluorinated Phosphonate‐Substituted Porphyrins: Excellent Photosensitizers and Robust Precursors for Photoactive Langmuir–Schaefer Films

open access: yesChemistry – A European Journal, EarlyView.
This is a comprehensive study of new family of high functionalized meso‐tetraarylporphyrins. A synthetic approach to phosphonate‐substituted fluorinated porphyrins was developed. These compounds were investigated with respect to singlet oxygen generation and photostability.

Highly efficient catalytic hydrodehalogenation of polychlorinated biphenyls (PCBs)

open access: yes, 2009
The hydrodehalogenation of polychlorinated phenyls and biphenyls (PCBs), catalysed by palladium N-heterocyclic carbene complexes, proceeds with excellent yields, at very low catalyst loadings and at room temperature, using isopropanol as the hydrogen ...

FLP Mediated Conversion of Difluorobenzylalkynes to Fluoroallenyl Oniums via an SN1’ Pathway

open access: yesChemistry – A European Journal, EarlyView.
Frustrated Lewis pair (FLP) selective C‒F activation of difluorobenzylalkynes allows the formation of fluoroallenic oniums via an SN1’ substitution pathway. The fluoroallenic onium salts are synthetic precursors that allow subsequent functionalization at allenic and onium positions.

Asymmetric Diphosphane Dioxides With A–π–A–π’–D Scaffolds for High‐Purity Deep‐Blue Luminescence

open access: yesChemistry – A European Journal, EarlyView.
Diphosphane dioxide‐based luminophores with donor–π–acceptor– π’–acceptor scaffold enable efficient deep‐blue emission from tunable charge‐transfer states affording high photoluminescence up to 95%. OLEDs reach EQE 4.9%, aided by triplet–triplet annihilation, highlighting a practical route to high‐performance blue emitters.
