Saffron Alters Microbial Amino Acid Metabolism and Neurotransmitter Production in a Defined Gut Consortium

Graphical representation of the metabolic pathways modulated by saffron within defined microbial communities. In the tryptophan pathway, saffron decreased levels of tryptophan and anthranilic acid while increasing concentrations of indole‐3‐acetic acid and tryptamine.

Results obtained for tannin by ASAP have been compared with those obtained with electrospray ionization (ESI).

Ultrafast Electro‐Optical Response of Polymer‐Dispersed Liquid Crystals with Ferroelectric Nematic Liquid Crystal in Light Transmission to Light Scattering Switching

Polymer‐dispersed liquid crystals (PDLCs) are electro‐optical functional materials capable of switching between light‐transmitting and light‐scattering states. We successfully fabricated a PDLC for the first time using ferroelectric nematic liquid crystal (FNLC) with high polar and spontaneous polarization.

Palladium is a simple and versatile redox‐active metal that plays a crucial role in the oxidation reactions for organic synthesis and production of pharmaceutical intermediates. Notably, there has been significant progress with Lewis acids (LAs), which are non‐redox metal ions promoting Pd(II)‐catalyzed oxidation via C—H and C—C bond activation.
