Sub-Arcsecond Near-Infrared Images of Massive Star Formation Region NGC 6334 V [PDF]

open access: yes, 2006
We present high spatial resolution (0$\farcs$3) polarimetric images in the $H$ and $K$ bands and direct images in the $L'$ and $M'$ bands of the NGC 6334 V infrared nebulae.

s‐Orbital Mediated Metavalent Bonding Enables State‐Of‐The‐Art n‐Type AgBiSe2 Thermoelectrics

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Metavalent bonding (MVB) underpins the exceptional property portfolio of chalcogenides. Typical MVB solids are mainly found in p‐bonded systems. This work reveals that MVB can also be formed with s‐p orbital interactions upon forming a single‐electron σ‐bond, as exemplified in AgBiSe2.

Path-independent integrals around two circular holes in a thermoelastic medium [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
An analytic solution obtained by using bipolar coordinates is presented for thermal stresses in an infinite thermoelastic medium with two unequal circular holes kept at different temperatures.

Magnetic topology of a naked sunspot: Is it really naked?

open access: yes, 2012
The high spatial, temporal and spectral resolution achieved by Hinode instruments give much better understanding of the behavior of some elusive solar features, such as pores and naked sunspots.

STRESS ANALYSIS OF ECCENTRIC RINGS IN BIPOLAR COORDINATE SYSTEM

open access: yesInternational Journal of Research in Engineering and Technology, 2015
Stress analysis of eccentric ring is carried out in bipolar coordinate system under uniform internal and external pressure. Airy stress function is chosen in such a way that it satisfies the bi-harmonic equations and boundary conditions in bipolar coordinate system. Stresses are obtained for various parameters such as eccentricity, various inner radius

Molecularly Engineered Highly Stable Memristors with Ultra‐Low Operational Voltage: Integrating Synthetic DNA with Quasi‐2D Perovskites

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Molecularly engineered memristors integrating Ag nanoparticle–embedded synthetic DNA with quasi‐2D halide perovskites enable ultra‐low‐operational voltage, forming‐free resistive switching, and record‐low power density. This synergistic integration of customized DNA and 2D OHP in bio‐hybrid architecture enhances charge transport, reduces variability ...

Fault discrimination and protection coordination for a bipolar full‐bridge MMC‐HVDC scheme

open access: yesThe Journal of Engineering, 2018
Fault discrimination and protection design for bipolar high‐voltage direct current transmission solutions based on modular multilevel converters (MMC‐HVDC) links are of significant importance for a reliable and resilient power transmission. If full‐bridge submodules are utilised, fault‐dependent handling concepts considering the location of an event ...

Ultrasound‐Triggered Gelation for Restoring Biomechanical Properties of Degenerated Functional Spinal Units

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
This study introduces an innovative approach to treating intervertebral disc degeneration using ultrasound‐triggered in situ hydrogel formation. Proof‐of‐concept experiments using optimized biomaterial and ultrasound parameters demonstrate partial restoration of biomechanical function and successful integration into degenerated disc tissue, offering a ...

Półodwrotna Metoda w Hydrodynamice Płaskiej

open access: yesEngineering Transactions, 1965
The first part of the paper is devoted to generalization of the semi-inverse method of [1]. Some applications are given. Many boundary value problems can easily be solved for regions bounded by the curves plotted in Fig.
