Paper-Based Bipolar Electrochemistry [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Electrochemical Science and Technology, 2013
We demonstrate that carbon electrodes screen-printed directly on cellulose paper can be employed to perform bipolar electrochemistry. In addition, an array of 18 screen-printed bipolar electrodes (BPEs) can be simultaneously controlled using a single pair of driving electrodes.

On the application of bipolar electrochemistry for simulating galvanic corrosion behaviour of dissimilar stainless steels

open access: yesElectrochemistry Communications, 2021
The application of a bipolar electrochemistry technique to simulate the galvanic corrosion behaviour of dissimilar stainless steels is introduced. The technique allows comparison of the bipolar response by controlling the extent of localised corrosion as

A novel high throughput electrochemistry corrosion test method: Bipolar electrochemistry

open access: yesCurrent Opinion in Electrochemistry, 2023
Bipolar electrochemistry is a relatively novel screening method used to study the corrosion performance of metals under a wide range of applied potentials. Pitting corrosion that occurs in regions exposed to high anodic potentials on the bipolar electrode are researched.

Fast growth of highly ordered porous alumina films based on closed bipolar electrochemistry

open access: yesElectrochemistry Communications, 2020
Highly ordered porous anodic alumina (PAA) is widely used as a template for preparing one-dimensional nanostructured materials. At present, research efforts to prepare PAA templates with straight channels mainly focus on improving their regularity or ...

On demand, wireless electrochemical release of brain derived neurotrophic factor

open access: yesElectrochemistry Communications, 2023
Organic conductive polymers are prime candidates for the on demand or controlled release of neurotrophic proteins which can enhance the electrode-neural interface. In this study, bipolar electrochemistry (BPE) is employed to provide a wireless electrical

Fabrication of TiO2 nanotubes on Ti spheres using bipolar electrochemistry

open access: yesElectrochemistry Communications, 2020
In this work, the anodization of Ti spheres using bipolar electrochemistry is reported for the first time. TiO2 nanotubes were found over the entire surface area of the Ti spheres when a square-wave potential was employed.
