Production of Tetramethyl Ammonium Hydroxide Using Bipolar Membrane Electrodialysis
Industrial & Engineering Chemistry Research, 2008To produce tetramethyl ammonium hydroxide (TMAH) at lower energy consumption and with less environmental pollution, a bipolar membrane electrodialysis (BMED) of A-BP configuration (A, anion exchange membrane; BP, bipolar membrane) was adopted to electro-alkalize tetramethyl ammonium chloride.

Regenerating flue‐gas desulfurizing agents by bipolar membrane electrodialysis
AIChE Journal, 2005AbstractAn experimental study was carried out on the regeneration of a flue‐gas desulfurizing agent by using bipolar membrane electrodialysis (BMED) with sodium sulfate (Na2SO4) as the supporting and rinsing electrolyte, and piperazine sulfate (Pz·H2SO4) as a model compound for the heat stable salt formed in the process of desulfurizing.

CO2separation using bipolar membrane electrodialysis
Energy Environ. Sci., 2011Caustic solvents such as sodium or potassium hydroxides, converted viaCO2 capture to aqueous carbonates or bicarbonates, are a likely candidate for atmospheric CO2 separation. We have performed a comprehensive experimental investigation of CO2 gas regeneration from aqueous potassium carbonate and bicarbonate solutions using bipolar membrane ...

Bipolar membrane electrodialysis for the alkalinization of ethanolamine salts
Journal of Membrane Science, 2011Bipolar membrane electrodialysis for the production of organic bases, in contrast to organic acids, has received little attention in the scientific literature. In the present work we have investigated and compared different membrane configurations for the alkalinization of monoethanolamine salts into the organic base monoethanolamine.
