The esterification of thiophosphinic acids with haloalkanes was found to be S‐selective providing only the corresponding thiolic esters. The kinetic selectivity was confirmed by theoretical calculations exploring the mechanism in the presence of triethylamine as the base.

Reduced sediment accumulation rate enhances early marine diagenesis of periplatform sediments
The influence of reduced sediment accumulation rate on early marine burial diagenesis was investigated in sediments collected by ODP Leg 133. Results show that low sediment accumulation rates can produce substantial and asynchronous shifts in stable carbon isotope ratios across a slope transect without the development of sedimentological indicators of ...

Global Spatial and Temporal Variability of the Oceanic Cool Skin Effect
Abstract The oceanic cool skin effect is characterized by a temperature depression between the ocean's submillimeter thermal skin layer (SSTskin) and the underlying water (SSTdepth). This study evaluates the ability of the widely used Fairall et al. (1996), https://doi.org/10.1029/95jc03190 model (F96) to simulate the cool skin effect using surface ...

Abstract The South‐West Indian Ocean (SWIO) displays marked spatial variations in physical forcings, driving in turn distinct seasonal biogeochemical regimes. Mesoscale eddies in the Mozambique Channel drive large‐scale redistribution of nutrients and plankton, while eastern Madagascar waters are highly oligotrophic.

The manuscript presents a circuit that can act as a universal filter as well as a single resistence controlled oscillator by unpretentiously changing the switch positions. The circuit employs only two active devices and all grounded passive elements. The

Onset of classical behaviour after a phase transition [PDF]
We analyze the onset of classical behaviour in a scalar field after a continuous phase transition, in which the system-field, the long wavelength order parameter of the model, interacts with an environment of its own short-wavelength modes.
