Variation of non-structural carbohydrates in silver birch (Betula pendula Roth) wood

Trees, 2001
Non-structural carbohydrates in silver birch (Betula pendula Roth) wood were analysed in a 7-year-old clone and in five mature stems. The analysis was conducted to obtain more detailed information on seasonal fluctuation of these components and of the tree-to-tree variation and within stem variation. The sugars were analysed by GLC-MS.

Pectin from leaves of birch (Betula pendula Roth.): Results of NMR experiments and hypothesis of the RG-I structure.

Carbohydrate Polymers, 2022
We report that in birch leaf pectin, rhamnogalacturonan-I (RG-I) and galacturonan (HG) were found as separate polymers rather than domains of a complex macromolecule.

An Indicating Role of Antioxidant System Enzymes at the Stage of Active Structural Anomalies Formation in Karelian birch (Betula pendula Roth var. carelica (Mercl.) Hämet-Ahti).

Protein Peptide Letters, 2023
INTRODUCTION A complex study of the antioxidant system enzymes (AOS) is an important subject of biochemical research; changes in the activity of these enzymes can be used as a biochemical marker of various processes in plants.

Bacterial Diseases of Silver Birch (Betula pendula Roth.)

Mikrobiolohichnyi Zhurnal, 2020
A significant role in the pathogenesis of diseases of woody plants belongs to phytopathogenic bacteria and fungi. It has been scientifically confirmed that the organs and tissues of woody plants have a certain myco- and microbiota, the components of which are systematically interconnected both with each other and with the plant. The species composition
