Els Ocells del jaciment arqueològic de La Aldea, Gran Canària [PDF]

open access: yes, 1989

Boosting Seawater Desalination by Ampere‐Level Nitrate Electroreduction On Defect‐Rich Ultrathin RuCu Alloy Nanostructures

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Defect engineering of ultrathin RuCu alloy nanostructures has been successfully achieved to enhance ammonia electrosynthesis under indutrial‐level current density. Simultaneously, the stable ampere‐level operation of nitrate electroreduction on defective RuCu nanostructures can drive seawater desalination at an ultrafast salt removal rate, offering an ...

Impact of Oxygen Plasma Pre‐Treatment on Thermal Oxidation and Reliability of SiO2 on 4H‐SiC

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Interfaces, EarlyView.
We investigate how oxygen plasma pre‐treatment affects the thermal oxidation of silicon carbide. While plasma modification increases growth rates by 84%, it reduces dielectric breakdown strength by 18%. Our findings reveal that although plasma improves the interface state density, it introduces structural damage, highlighting a critical trade‐off ...

A NEW EARLY PLEISTOCENE BIRD ASSOCIATION FROM PIETRAFITTA (PERUGIA, CENTRAL ITALY)

open access: yesRivista Italiana di Paleontologia e Stratigrafia, 2003
We here present che preliminary results of the analysis of the fossil bird assemblages found in the lignite deposits of the Pietrafitta Mine (Perugia, Central Italy). A rich vertebrate association, mainly mammals, has been retrieved in Pietrafitta, which

Projected climate-induced faunal change in the western hemisphere [PDF]

open access: yes, 2009
Climate change is predicted to be one of the greatest drivers of ecological change in the coming century. Increases in temperature over the last century have clearly been linked to shifts in species distributions.

Avian Haemosporidian blood parasite infections at a migration hotspot in Eilat, Israel [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
Haemosporidian blood parasites are frequent amongst passerines. Though they often do not cause detectable  consequences to host health, however, their presence or absence and also their prevalence across host  populations may potentially carry ...

Information Transmission Strategies for Self‐Organized Robotic Aggregation

open access: yesAdvanced Robotics Research, EarlyView.
In this review, we discuss how information transmission influences the neighbor‐based self‐organized aggregation of swarm robots. We focus specifically on local interactions regarding information transfer and categorize previous studies based on the functions of the information exchanged.
