Energy‐aware flexible job shop scheduling problem with nonlinear routes and position‐based learning effect

open access: yesInternational Transactions in Operational Research, Volume 33, Issue 2, Page 860-891, March 2026.
Abstract Sustainability has become one of the main objectives in all human activities and, in particular, in manufacturing environments. In this paper, we consider the flexible job shop scheduling problem with the objective of minimizing energy consumption.

The Development of Mung Bean (Vigna radiata) Seed Coat Extract Entrapped in Niosome With UVB Protection and Collagen Stimulation

open access: yesAdvances in Pharmacological and Pharmaceutical Sciences, Volume 2026, Issue 1, 2026.
This study aimed to develop a niosome delivery system loaded with mung bean seed coat (MBSC) extract for cosmetic applications. The extract was prepared using Soxhlet extraction with 40% ethanol and demonstrated strong antioxidant activity due to its rich content of phenolic and flavonoid compounds.

A central limit theorem for the effective conductance: Linear boundary data and small ellipticity contrasts

open access: yes, 2014
Given a resistor network on $\mathbb Z^d$ with nearest-neighbor conductances, the effective conductance in a finite set with a given boundary condition is the the minimum of the Dirichlet energy over functions with the prescribed boundary values.

A remark on the notion of robust phase transitions [PDF]

open access: yes, 1999
We point out that the high-q Potts model on a regular lattice at its transition temperature provides an example of a non-robust - in the sense recently proposed by Pemantle and Steif- phase ...

Evaluation of Extraction Methods for the Recovery of Vertebrate DNA From Spider Webs

open access: yesEnvironmental DNA, Volume 7, Issue 4, July–August 2025.
Spider webs are a valuable source of vertebrate eDNA, but recovery efficiency varies by extraction method. We tested four sample preparation methods and three extraction kits, finding that digesting webs in ATL buffer with proteinase K, followed by either Blood & Tissue or MagMAX Microbiome extraction, yielded the highest vertebrate DNA recovery ...

A proof of the Gibbs-Thomson formula in the droplet formation regime

open access: yes, 2003
We study equilibrium droplets in two-phase systems at parameter values corresponding to phase coexistence. Specifically, we give a self-contained microscopic derivation of the Gibbs-Thomson formula for the deviation of the pressure and the density away ...
