On the solid solutions of bismuth telluride and bismuth selenide

Solid State Communications, 1964
The heats of formation at 0°C of various solid solutions in the system Bi2Te3−xSex(0 < x < 3) have been measured by liquid metal solution calorimetry with bismuth as solvent. Slowly cooled and quenched alloys near the composition Bi2Te2Se had different heats of formation; the difference is interpreted as the energy of an order-disorder transition.

Bismuth Telluride Modules

2017
BiTe modules are the pioneers of thermoelectric (TE) modules that are available on the market and being sold annually in large quantities. BiTe modules have the unique advantage of being most efficient for applications within the temperature regime where the hot side can reach a maximum temperature of up to 250 °C.

Thermal expansion of bismuth telluride

High Temperature, 2011
The results of X-ray and dilatometric measurements of the thermal expansion of bismuth telluride in the temperature range of 4.2–850 K have been critically analyzed. The joint statistical processing of the experimental data has been performed by the least squares method and the most reliable temperature dependences of the linear thermal expansion ...

The thermal conductivity of bismuth telluride

Vacuum, 1956
Measurements of the thermal conductivity of bismuth telluride have been made in the range of temperature 150°K to 300°K. It has been found that the electronic contribution to the conduction of heat is considerably greater for specimens in which the charge carriers are intrinsically excited than for specimens in which most of the carriers arise from an ...

THE BISMUTH TELLURIDE-BISMUTH SELENIDE SYSTEM

1966
Abstract : These data sheets present a compilation of a wide range of electronic properties for the bismuth telluride-bismuth selenide system. Electrical properties include conductivity, dielectric constant, Hall coefficient, and mobility. Emission data were broken down into the varied electron and photon emissions which result from application of ...

Chemical bonding in bismuth telluride

Journal of Physics and Chemistry of Solids, 1958
Abstract A model for the chemical bondins in bismuth telluride is proposed which appears to dispose of some of the difficulties involved in earlier models. The new model is used to explain some of the properties of bismuth telluride and of its alloys with bismuth selenide.

The Optical Properties of Bismuth Telluride

Proceedings of the Physical Society, 1958
The shape of the absorption edge in the semiconductor Bi2Te3 has been determined from transmission measurements on cleavage sections. The edge is of the form expected for indirect transitions, but an interpretation in terms of phonons characterized by a single energy is not applicable. A brief study of anisotropy effects is included.

Heat Conduction in Bismuth Telluride

Proceedings of the Physical Society, 1958
The Lorenz number of the semiconductor Bi2Te3 has been evaluated, for the range of partial degeneracy, from data provided by the measurements of electrical conductivity and thermoelectric power. The calculated electronic component of the thermal conductivity, for p-type material, has been found to agree with the experimental results, assuming the ...

Studies on Nanocrystalline Bismuth Telluride

AIP Conference Proceedings, 2010
Nanostructured thermoelectric bismuth telluride powders with various hydrothermal synthesis times were synthesised to give an experimental comprehension on the formation of the nanopowders. Nanoparticles were synthesised at 130 °C for 24 h and 72 h.
