Resolution analysis of bistatic SAR

SPIE Proceedings, 2011
In this paper, we analyze the resolution of bistatic synthetic aperture radar (BISAR) imaging for stationary objects. In particular, we analyze the resolution of images reconstructed by the method of a filtered backprojection inversion, an inversion method which is derived from a scalar wave equation model. In this context we are able to account for

A Bistatic Point Target Reference Spectrum for General Bistatic SAR Processing

IEEE Geoscience and Remote Sensing Letters, 2008
A bistatic point target reference spectrum (BPTRS) based on Loffeld's bistatic formula (LBF) is derived in this letter. For LBF, the same contributions of the transmitter and receiver to the total azimuth modulation are assumed. This assumption results in the failure of LBF in the extreme configuration (i.e., spaceborne/airborne configuration).

The monostatic/bistatic approximation

IEEE Antennas and Propagation Magazine, 1994
Many radar cross section (RCS) prediction codes are limited to one monostatic return per run. However, such codes can calculate multiple bistatic returns per incident angle for a relatively small amount of additional computer resources. This article describes a method of using bistatic returns to generate multiple monostatic predictions for each ...

Bistatic FOPEN SAR

2011
This chapter has illustrated the advantages of a bistatic FOPEN SAR receiver working in concert with a tethered airborne GMTI radar illuminator. The potential for moderate resolution SAR operation is made possible by the shortrange, higher angular rate collection of a bistatic adjunct receiver.

Bistatic clutter modelling

2017
This chapter addresses the study of the properties of bistatic clutter, compared with monostatic with a particular focus on recent results from analysis of real sea clutter data. Clutter is usually defined as the unwanted radar returns from land, sea, rainfall or other phenomena, which may mask the echoes from targets, and its models usually reproduce ...

Bistatic mapping radar BISAR

Oceans 2003. Celebrating the Past ... Teaming Toward the Future (IEEE Cat. No.03CH37492), 2004
Synthetic aperture radar (SAR) is a system of active prints that are loaded in a sensor able, to carry out the cartography of natural scenes with a better resolution. SAR supplies images based on the waves reflected by the Earth's surface that do not appear on classical optical images.

Bistatic Synthetic Aperture Radar

2012
Bistatic Synthetic Aperture Radar represents an active research and development area in radar technology. In addition, Bistatic and Multistatic SAR concepts are tightly related to formation flying and distributed space missions that also represent the new space-based remote sensing and surveillance frontiers.
