Bistatic forward-looking SAR interferometry

2016 IEEE International Geoscience and Remote Sensing Symposium (IGARSS), 2016
An innovative interferometry configuration, imaging and digital elevation mode (DEM) generation method via bistatic forward-looking synthetic aperture radar (BiFLInSAR) is addressed in this paper. The analytical relationship expressions between the interferometric phase and the topographic height are derived. In addition, for the space-variant features

Research on Bistatic SAR Imaging

2006 IEEE International Symposium on Geoscience and Remote Sensing, 2006
For reasons of stealth and other operational advantages, more attention has recently been focused on bistatic SAR Bistatic SAR uses separated transmitter and receiver flying on different platforms, and has the ability of the exploitation of additional information contained in the bistatic reflectivity of targets.

Bistatic SAR image formation: A systematic approach

2014 IEEE Geoscience and Remote Sensing Symposium, 2014
In this paper, we provide a systematic overview on bistatic SAR image formation for arbitrary platform trajectories. Bistatic SAR may offer improved flexibility, performance and cost-efficiency if compared to monostatic SAR systems certainly at the expense of increased operational complexity.

Performance analysis for bistatic interferometric SAR configurations

IEEE International Geoscience and Remote Sensing Symposium, 2003
The results of an interferometric performance analysis for spaceborne parasitic SAR configurations are presented. The analysis includes errors due to limited SNR, block adaptive quantization, range and azimuth ambiguities, and geometric decorrelation for both flat surfaces and random volumes.

Study and Simulation on Bistatic SAR

2006 7th International Symposium on Antennas, Propagation & EM Theory, 2006
After introduction of system configuration of a multi-static SAR, essential principle and system performance is analyzed. By utilizing the Versatile SAR Simulation Model (VSARSM) simulation results are given, which sustained the theory.

Bistatic SAR for Earth Observation

2008
This chapter presents a case study of a spaceborne BSAR based on a small satellite equipped with a receiving only antenna flying in formation along parallel orbits with a main monostatic mission. First of all, payload aspects are dealt with, focusing in particular on overall BSAR architecture and performance, and presenting solutions for key technical ...

Fundamentals of Bistatic SAR Imaging Algorithms

2017
The formulation of a point target spectrum in synthetic aperture radar (SAR) is a key step in SAR focusing algorithms, which exploits the processing efficiency in the frequency domain. The general bistatic SAR range equation has a double-square-root (DSR) term that makes it difficult to derive an analytical expression of the bistatic two-dimensional ...
