Unambiguous signal reconstruction for GEO-LEO bistatic SAR with azimuth multichannel

open access: yesThe Journal of Engineering, 2019
Spaceborne bistatic multichannel synthetic aperture radar (MC-SAR) system employed inclined geosynchronous Earth orbit (GEO) transmitter and low-Earth-orbit (LEO) receiver can provide fine spatial resolution and a vast area of surveillance, which ...

Bistatic Synthetic Aperture Radar Synchronization Processing [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
Bistatic synthetic aperture radar (BiSAR), operates with separate transmitter and receiver that are mounted on different platforms (Cherniakov & Nezlin, 2007), will play a great role in future radar applications (Krieger & Moreira, 2006). BiSAR configuration can bring many benefits in comparison with monostatic systems, such as the exploitation of ...

Large‐Scale Topographic Changes at Erupting Volcanoes Measured by the TanDEM‐X Digital Change Map

open access: yesEarth and Space Science, Volume 12, Issue 11, November 2025.
Abstract Volcanic eruptions cause large‐scale topographic changes, through the emplacement of lava flows and lava domes, the formation of craters and calderas, and thick ash and pyroclastic deposits. Here we analyze the TanDEM‐X Digital Change Map (DCM), which compares the DEM produced during 2010–2015 with satellite acquisitions collected in 2016–2022.

Lava Tube System Development Defined by Multispectral Imaging and InSAR: The Case of the 2024 Eruption of Fernandina Volcano (Galápagos)

open access: yesJournal of Geophysical Research: Solid Earth, Volume 130, Issue 11, November 2025.
Abstract Lava tubes are subsurface conduits within a lava flow that feed its advance. Lava tube detection is important to understand lava flow dynamics and to mitigate geohazards. Here we use InSAR‐derived surface motion data, in combination with shortwave and thermal infrared imagery, to delineate a ∼14 km long lava tube system at Fernandina volcano ...

Near-Space Microwave Radar Remote Sensing: Potentials and Challenge Analysis

open access: yesRemote Sensing, 2010
Near-space, defined as the region between 20 km and 100 km, offers many new capabilities that are not accessible to low earth orbit (LEO) satellites and airplanes, because it is above storm and not constrained by either the orbital mechanics of ...

Digital elevation models of TanDEM-X mission [PDF]

open access: yesBiuletyn Wojskowej Akademii Technicznej, 2015
Started in 2010 TanDEM-X mission (TerraSAR-X add-on for Digital Elevation Measurement) is the first spaceborne radar interferometer mission that acquires interferometric data in bistatic InSAR stripmap mode with two spacecrafts TerraSAR-X (TSTSX) and ...

Coseismic Vertical Displacement for a Shallow Thrust Earthquake From EarthDEM Data

open access: yesGeophysical Research Letters, Volume 52, Issue 18, 28 September 2025.
Abstract Coseismic vertical displacements are important observations that help improve our understanding of fault mechanisms and how earthquakes alter landscapes. It has been a challenge to quantify long‐wavelength topographic changes for thrust earthquakes using optical satellite imagery, as most recent studies focus on strike‐slip earthquakes that ...

Microwave‐Driven Dielectric‐Magnetic Regulation of Graphite@α‐MnO2 Toward Enhanced Electromagnetic Wave Absorption

open access: yesAdvanced Science, Volume 12, Issue 34, September 11, 2025.
This study presents a microwave‐activated composite integrating expanded graphite with α‐MnO2 nanowires, engineered to synergistically optimize dielectric and magnetic properties. The innovative microwave‐driven process enables rapid structural transformation, yielding ultrathin, scalable electromagnetic wave‐absorbing films.

Beam Footprint Detection and Tracking for Non-cooperative Bistatic SAR [PDF]

open access: yesRadioengineering, 2016
In non-cooperative bistatic synthetic aperture radar (SAR), the position of transmitter’s beam footprint should be detected and tracked in real-time to perform beam synchronization.

Generalized PFA for Air-Missile Borne Bistatic Forward-Looking Beam-Steering SAR With Accelerations

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2018
For air-missile borne bistatic forward-looking beam-steering synthetic aperture radar (BFLBS-SAR), the receiver platform moves along a curve track due to the existence of accelerations.
