Soft-information flipper based on long-short term memory networks for ultra-high density magnetic recording

open access: yesAIP Advances, 2021
Currently, researchers have been developing new ultra-high density magnetic recording technologies to meet the exponential growth of data storage demand. One of the main prospective technologies is bit-patterned media recording (BPMR) technology which is

Modified Viterbi Algorithm with Feedback Using a Two-Dimensional 3-Way Generalized Partial Response Target for Bit-Patterned Media Recording Systems

open access: yesApplied Sciences, 2021
The ever-increasing demand for data in recent times has led to the emergence of big data and cloud data. The growth in these fields has necessitated that data be centrally stored in data centers.

YIPFα1A expression is regulated by multilayered molecular mechanisms

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
YIPFα1A, a five‐pass Golgi protein, is regulated at multiple layers. (1) Rare‐codon enrichment drives translation‐coupled mRNA decay. (2) A proximal 3′‐UTR element stabilizes mRNA. (3) A distal 3′‐UTR element included by alternate poly(A) site usage represses translation, which can be overridden by the proximal 3′‐UTR element.

Long-Short Term Memory-Based Application on Adaptive Cross-Platform Decoder for Bit Patterned Magnetic Recording

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2020
Dynamic bit encoding and decoding of the magnetic recording process remain a challenge in that the process is restrained by the balance between reading and writing performance of the decoder's bit error rate (BER).

An iterative ITI cancellation method for multi-head multi-track bit-patterned magnetic recording systems

open access: yesDigital Communications and Networks, 2021
Bit-Patterned Magnetic Recording (BPMR) is one of the emerging data storage technologies, which promises an Areal Density (AD) of about 4 Tb/in2. However, a major problem practically encountered in a BPMR system is Inter-Track Interference (ITI) that can

Clinical Practice Guideline for Evaluation and Management of Peripheral Nervous System Manifestations in Sjögren's Disease

open access: yesArthritis Care &Research, EarlyView.
Objective Sjögren's disease is an autoimmune disorder that can impact multiple organ systems, including the peripheral nervous system (PNS). PNS manifestations, which can exist concurrently, include mononeuropathies, polyneuropathies, and autonomic nervous system neuropathies.

Utilization of multiple read heads for TMR prediction and correction in bit-patterned media recording

open access: yesAIP Advances, 2017
This paper proposes a utilization of multiple read heads to predict and correct a track mis-registration (TMR) in bit-patterned media recording (BPMR) based on the readback signals.

Skew angle estimation and alleviation based multi-layer perceptron in V-shaped read-head array BPMR systems

open access: yesAIP Advances, 2023
The demand for a massive storage device has kept rising and it has led to the emergence of advanced technology with a vast storage capacity. Achieving this idea might bring some obstacles called two-dimensional interference as well as a skew angle (SA ...

Influence of Surface Finish on the Tribological Performance of AlTiBN Coatings Deposited on Forming Tools

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Aluminum and nitride coatings are used in industry because they are hard, resist wear, and protect against oxidation. Adding boron can improve friction behavior and other properties. This study tests coatings on surfaces with different finishes. Results show smoother surfaces perform better, while rough ones wear faster, although coatings can reduce ...

All‐in‐One Analog AI Hardware: On‐Chip Training and Inference with Conductive‐Metal‐Oxide/HfOx ReRAM Devices

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
An all‐in‐one analog AI accelerator is presented, enabling on‐chip training, weight retention, and long‐term inference acceleration. It leverages a BEOL‐integrated CMO/HfOx ReRAM array with low‐voltage operation (<1.5 V), multi‐bit capability over 32 states, low programming noise (10 nS), and near‐ideal weight transfer.
