Accurate evaluation of packet error probabilities considering bit-to-bit error dependence

GLOBECOM '05. IEEE Global Telecommunications Conference, 2005., 2005
This paper presents new accurate packet error rate analysis of ALOHA type networks that employ BPSK or QPSK modulation in a Rayleigh fading environment. Relying on a precise interference model, we derive new accurate expressions for the packet success probabilities that account for bit to bit error dependence, and are valid for unequal power levels ...

Bit Error Probability and Bit Outage Rate in Chaos Communication

Circuits, Systems and Signal Processing, 2005
This paper investigates the notion of the probability of bit error (PBE) and its distribution in chaos-based communication systems; these are seen as being the fundamental quantities to both the well-known bit error rate (BER) and the new concept in chaos communications of bit outage rate (BOR).

Bit error probability of 2D-OCDMA systems

2015 17th International Conference on Transparent Optical Networks (ICTON), 2015
In this paper, the probability distribution and error probability of the detected energy of a 2D-OCDMA system are calculated. Code set independent upper and lower bounds for the bit error probability are obtained considering beat noise as the main factor limiting performance of the system.

Symbol-Error Probability and Bit-Error Probability for Optimum Combining With MPSK Modulation

IEEE Transactions on Communications, 2004
New expressions are derived for the exact symbol error probability and bit-error probability for optimum combining with multiple phase-shift keying. The expressions are for any numbers of equal-power cochannel interferers and receive branches. It is assumed that the aggregate interference and noise is Gaussian and that both the desired signal and ...

On the bit error probability of QAM modulation

International Journal of Wireless Information Networks, 1994
This paper presents some closed-form bit error probability expressions for coherent demodulation of both Gray coded and differentially decoded Gray coded QAM modulations in nonfading and frequency nonselective Rayleigh fading channels. These results demonstrate that as QAM constellation sizes get larger the BEP degradation due to differential encoding ...

Bit error probabilities in high temperature superconductor logic

Applied Physics Letters, 2000
We present error rate simulations for a single flux quantum logic circuit which include statistical variations in the circuit parameters. We find that the fabrication yield, junction critical margins, and bit error probabilities of the nominal circuit can give a false impression of the performance of practical circuits.

Bit error probability of bit-interleaved coded modulation (BICM) in wireless environments

Proceedings. International Symposium on Information Theory, 2005. ISIT 2005., 2005
In this paper a union bound on the bit error probability of bit-interleaved coded modulation (BICM) is derived. In the derivation we assume that the bit errors in a codeword are uniformly distributed over the transmitted symbols. We derive the bound for BICM systems over AWGN, Rician and Nakagami fading channels.

Bit error probabilities in a two-rate communication system

IEEE International Conference on Communications, 2003. ICC '03., 2004
We examine a two-rate communication system where the transmission is suspended if the received SNR falls below a given threshold. We assume an FDD system and derive novel closed-form bit error probabilities in the presence of feedback errors in flat Rayleigh fading environment for single antenna transmission, orthogonal space-time block coding and ...

Bit Error Probability Evaluation of RO PUFs

2015
Physically unclonable functions PUFs are crucial to the implementations of secure key protection and authentication protocol. Ring oscillator PUF RO PUF is popular for its nice properties of neat structure. The power of an accurate model to describe the characteristics of a physical system is beyond doubt.

On computation of bit error probability in communication systems

Proceedings of 35th IEEE Conference on Decision and Control, 2002
We consider the use of rational interpolants (RIs) for small error probability in communication systems. The idea is interesting since there is a possibility of significantly reducing the cost when evaluating new systems by mainly studying their asymptotic behavior.
