Bit error probability of MDPSK in Nakagami fadingchannels

open access: yesElectronics Letters, 1997
A general formula for the bit error probability of M-ary DPSK transmission with equal gain combining diversity over frequency non-selective m-distributed Nakagami fading channels is derived. Simulations have shown that the analysis is efficient and accurate.

Opportunities of Semiconducting Oxide Nanostructures as Advanced Luminescent Materials in Photonics

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
The review discusses the challenges of wide and ultrawide bandgap semiconducting oxides as a suitable material platform for photonics. They offer great versatility in terms of tuning microstructure, native defects, doping, anisotropy, and micro‐ and nano‐structuring. The review focuses on their light emission, light‐confinement in optical cavities, and

Optimal ratio between phase basis and bit basis in QKD

open access: yes, 2008
In the original BB84 protocol, the bit basis and the phase basis are used with equal probability. Lo et al (J. of Cryptology, 18, 133-165 (2005)) proposed to modify the ratio between the two bases by increasing the final key generation rate. However, the

Triply‐Twinned Metamaterials: Unraveling the Mechanics and Failure Pathways Through High‐Resolution XCT

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Triply‐twinned architected lattices transform deformation from bending to stretching of struts, delivering up to threefold increases in stiffness and strength across polymeric and metallic systems. High‐resolution synchrotron XCT and image‐based simulations reveal how meta‐grain architecture, defects, and AM build orientation govern failure pathways ...

Performance Analysis for Relay-Aided Multihop BPPM FSO Communication System Over Exponentiated Weibull Fading Channels With Pointing Error Impairments

open access: yesIEEE Photonics Journal, 2015
The performances of the decode-and-forward (DF) multihop free-space optical communication system with exponentiated Weibull distribution considering the fading induced by pointing error have been studied. With Meijer's G-function, the probability density

Self‐Powered Flexible Triboelectric‐Gated Ion‐Gel Transistor for Neuromorphic Tactile Sensing and Human Activity Recognition

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
A fully flexible ion‐gel‐gated graphene‐channel transistor driven by a triboelectric nanogenerator enables self‐powered tactile sensing and synaptic learning. Mimicking spike‐rate‐dependent plasticity, the device exhibits frequency‐selective potentiation and depression, supporting rate‐coded neuromorphic computation even under flex.
