Neutrophil‐Mimetic MRI Enables Ultra‐Early Detection of Vascular Inflammation After Stroke

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
In this study, we developed neutrophil‐mimetic MRI probes that detect ultra‐early neuroinflammation following ischemic stroke by targeting E‐selectin. Within seconds of their injection, these microparticles mimic initial leukocyte adhesion to the activated cerebral endothelium.

Opportunities of Semiconducting Oxide Nanostructures as Advanced Luminescent Materials in Photonics

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
The review discusses the challenges of wide and ultrawide bandgap semiconducting oxides as a suitable material platform for photonics. They offer great versatility in terms of tuning microstructure, native defects, doping, anisotropy, and micro‐ and nano‐structuring. The review focuses on their light emission, light‐confinement in optical cavities, and

Evaluation of bite force after open reduction and internal fixation using microplates.

open access: yesFrontiers in Dentistry, 2013
The primary aim of this study is to determine maximum bite force in molar and incisor regions of healthy individuals, to evaluate the bite force after open reduction and internal fixation of mandibular fractures using micro plates, for a period of up to ...

Dataset from the literature on the ingestive behaviour of grazing ruminants

open access: yesData in Brief
The dataset described in this paper was constructed from 90 publications available from bibliographic databases. It presents the values of various quantitative components of ingestive behaviour of grazing ruminants (bite weight, biting rate, intake rate,

All‐Optical Reconfigurable Physical Unclonable Function for Sustainable Security

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
An all‐optical reconfigurable physical unclonable function (PUF) is demonstrated using plasmonic coupling–induced sintering of optically trapped gold nanoparticles, where Brownian motion serves as a robust entropy source. The resulting optical PUF exhibits high encoding density, strong resistance to modeling attacks, and practical authentication ...

Non-Compliance of Post Exposure Prophylaxis amongst Dog Bite Cases Attending Antirabies Clinic of a Tertiary Care Hospital – A Record Based Study

open access: yesNational Journal of Community Medicine, 2018
Introduction: Rabies, a zoonotic disease transmitted by bite of a rabid animal mostly due to dog bite. Rabies is deadly but can be prevented by post exposure prophylaxis with an effective vaccine available. Though 100% fatal disease, the victims are not

Cross-Electron-Transfer Reactions of the [CuII/I(bite)]2+/+ Redox Couple

open access: yes, 2016
A series of outer-sphere cross-electron-transfer reactions involving the [Cu(bite)]2+/+ redox couple has been investigated in acetonitrile at 25 °C. In this complex, the bite ligand is a macrocyclic N2S2 ligand with a 2,2‘-biphenyl moiety as its backbone.

Neuromorphic Electronics for Intelligence Everywhere: Emerging Devices, Flexible Platforms, and Scalable System Architectures

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
The perspective presents an integrated view of neuromorphic technologies, from device physics to real‐time applicability, while highlighting the necessity of full‐stack co‐optimization. By outlining practical hardware‐level strategies to exploit device behavior and mitigate non‐idealities, it shows pathways for building efficient, scalable, and ...

Sward height and bite size affect the functional response of barnacle geese Branta leucopsis

open access: yes, 2006
Intake rate, the rate in which herbivores can process their food, is presumed to be an important factor in habitat selection down to the scale of the foraging patch.
