Objective This study aimed to identify themes contributing to resilience in childhood‐onset systemic lupus erythematosus (cSLE), distinguish between profiles of resilience, and examine how they relate to underlying themes and patient characteristics. Methods We conducted a mixed‐methods study of 21 patients with cSLE aged 11 to 19 years at a Canadian ...

Prediction of Tail Biting Events in Finisher Pigs from Automatically Recorded Sensor Data
Simple Summary Tail biting is a major animal welfare issue within modern pig production, and tail biting should be prevented whenever possible. If the farmer could get an alarm when a pen of pigs is at high risk of developing tail damage, the farmer ...

A Different Perspective on the Solid Lubrication Performance of Black Phosphorous: Friend or Foe?
Researchers investigate black phosphorous (BP) as a standalone solid lubricant coating through ball‐on‐disc linear‐reciprocating sliding experiments in dry conditions. Testing on different metals shows BP doesn't universally reduce friction and wear. However, it achieves 33% friction reduction on rougher iron surfaces and 23% wear reduction on aluminum.

Nightly Biting Cycles of Anopheles Species in Rural Northwestern Burkina Faso
The biting behavior of anophelines is an important determinant of malaria transmission. Understanding the local vector host-seeking behavior, its outdoor/ indoor biting preference, and nocturnal biting periods is essential for effectively applying and ...

Postural And Eye-Positional Effects On Human Biting Force: An Experimental Study
Muscle groups affected on biting force are called temporal muscle as a major and masseter muscle as a minor. According to the human posture stability, forces of these muscles vary with the force directions.

Chronic nail biting, orthodontic treatment and Enterobacteriaceae in the oral cavity
Background Chronic nail biting is common in children and young adults. Auto inoculation of environmental pathogens can manifest as infection in distant organs. Multi-drug resistance gram negative bacteria are on the rise globally.

PBTTT‐OR‐R, a C14‐alkoxy/alkyl‐PBTTT polymer derivative, is of substantial interest for optoelectronics due to its specific fullerene intercalation behavior and enhanced charge‐transfer absorption. Comparing this polymer with (S) and without (O) homocoupling defects reveals that PBTTT‐OR‐R(O) forms stable co‐crystals with PC61BM, while PBTTT‐OR‐R(S ...

Structurally Colored Physically Unclonable Functions with Ultra‐Rich and Stable Encoding Capacity
This study reports a design strategy for generating bright‐field resolvable physically unclonable functions with extremely rich encoding capacity coupled with outstanding thermal and chemical stability. The optical response emerges from thickness‐dependent structural color formation in ZnO features, which are fabricated by physical vapor deposition ...
