Viscosity characterization of confined bitumen considering microaggregate-bitumen interactions
Abstract Microaggregate‐bitumen interactions in asphalt mixtures cause nonuniform rheological properties of bitumen adhering to aggregates.

The Unexpected Discovery of Paleocene? Coals in Outcrops Thought to Be Cambrian, Al Huqf, Oman
ABSTRACT Two brown organic deposits were encountered whilst investigating kaolinitic claystones thought to occur at the base of a Cambrian formation at outcrop. The age of these organic deposits is probably Paleocene from palynology. Organic petrography shows that they are subbituminous coals with some oil source potential.

ABSTRACT Although the global expansion of oxygen‐depleted marine environments during the Early Toarcian Jenkyns Event (or Toarcian Oceanic Anoxic Event) is primarily inferred from successions in the NW European epicontinental basins, the timing of the expansion of anoxia in Tethyan basins, where hydrography potentially played a minor role, is poorly ...

Influence of rejuvenators on bitumen ageing in hot recycled asphalt mixtures
The use of reclaimed asphalt pavement (RAP) in new hot mix asphalt (HMA) by means of hot recycling techniques generates the advantage linked to the exploitation of both lytic and bituminous component, consequently leading to the decrease of both virgin ...

ABSTRACT Thin, discontinuous, organic‐rich oil shale beds in the siliciclastic‐evaporitic Salt Range Formation (SRF) of Pakistan are of approximate Neoproterozoic to Cambrian age based on stratigraphic constraints. The beds are enriched (26–43 wt.% total organic carbon, TOC) in aliphatic organic matter (OM) of low thermal maturity despite their ...

Not Necessarily Farm‐Wives: The Working Women of Rural Aotearoa/New Zealand
ABSTRACT There's a perception farm‐resident women are farmers or farmwives (e.g., cooks, record‐keepers, errand‐runners). Yet most farm‐resident women record a non‐farm occupation in their census returns. This article investigates this anomaly. It looks at the changing status of farm and other rural women, the diversity of non‐farming careers they ...

Synthesis of functionalized polyolefins in a new continuous bench‐scale reactor apparatus
Abstract In‐reactor functionalized polyolefins (FPOs), produced by molecular catalysts, are a new class of polymer materials with applications ranging from high performance adhesives to bitumen compatibilization. In this work, we disclose a procedure for the synthesis of FPOs in a new Continuous Bench‐scale Reactor Apparatus (COBRA).
