Fracture behaviour of bitumen emulsion mortar mixtures

Construction and Building Materials, 2014
Abstract The research objective was to evaluate the fracture behaviour of the bitumen emulsion mortar (BEM) mixtures, in terms of their ductility/brittleness, by considering the fracture work and the deformation energy parameters. The specimens with different bitumen emulsions and contents were subjected to the indirect tensile test after 7, 28, and ...

Waterproofing latex-bitumen emulsions

Polymer Science. Series D, 2008
Bitumen emulsions are developed based on new anionic emulsifiers, which are wastes of chemical industry. Optimal concentrations of emulsifiers in bitumen emulsions are established. The developed bitumen emulsions are not inferior in their process and service parameters to known domestic and foreign analogs.

Electrical properties of bitumen emulsions

Fuel, 1995
The complex dielectric constant (permittivity) of water-in-bitumen emulsion was measured for emulsions with water volume fractions ranging from 0 to 0.5, in steps of 0.1. Significant departure from theoretical calculation was observed, and was attributed to the presence of polar components in the bitumen.

ATOMIZATION CHARACTERISTICS OF BITUMEN CRUDE-WATER EMULSION

Atomization and Sprays, 1998
Measurements of the angular patterns of scattered light were carried out on sprays of an emulsion of bitumen crude (70% by weight) in water produced by a home-built air-assisted atomizer at different air flow rates. The size distribution of the bitumen droplets was previously measured by optical microscopy.

Effect of process parameters on bitumen emulsions

Chemical Engineering and Processing: Process Intensification, 2005
Abstract Bitumen emulsification experiments have been carried out in a continuous pilot scale rotor-stator facility. The effects of the following process parameters, namely the temperature of the aqueous phase and bitumen, the rotor speed, the dispersed phase content, the bitumen grade and the emulsion flow rate were investigated.

OVER-STABILIZED BITUMEN EMULSIONS MADE FROM EMULSIFIERS FOR SLOW-SETTING EMULSIONS

Theory and Building Practice, 2023
Formulations of road over-stabilized cationic bitumen emulsions with orthophosphoric, sulfuric and hydrochloric acids and cationic emulsifiers for slowly disintegrating emulsions have been designed. The physical and mechanical properties of the manufactured over-stabilized bitumen emulsions and their breaking behavior were determined.

The factors affecting on Bitumen Emulsion properties

2010 International Conference on Chemistry and Chemical Engineering, 2010
Need to proper roads and highways will increase with increasing automotive industry and development of cities and countries. Among petroleum products used in road construction and asphalt application for soil stability and adhesion between layers of asphalt are bitumen soluble and Bitumen Emulsions.

Preparation And Inversion of Bitumen-Water Emulsions

Technical Meeting / Petroleum Conference of The South Saskatchewan Section, 1995
Abstract The preparation and inversion of relatively large droplet Athabasca Bitumen-in-water emulsions have been examined experimentally, The emulsions were prepared using small quantities of NaOH, followed by cooling to 20 ° C.
