Mix Proportion Optimisation Design and Performance Evaluation of a Cold‐Recycled Mixture Based on Uniform Design and Bailey Verification

open access: yesAdvances in Civil Engineering, Volume 2026, Issue 1, 2026.
To eliminate the gradation variability of reclaimed asphalt pavement (RAP) materials and improve the road performance of cold‐recycled mixtures, this study analyses the gradation variability of recycled materials and conducts gradation design using the actual particle sizes of extracted aged materials.

Improving the Behavior of Cold Mix Asphalt With Induction Heating After Asphalt Paving

open access: yesAdvances in Civil Engineering, Volume 2026, Issue 1, 2026.
Cold asphalt exhibits weaker mechanical properties (stiffness, deformation, and fatigue, etc.) and moisture resistance compared to hot mix asphalt (HMA). Its high moisture sensitivity is due to its low‐temperature production, which manifests as poor adhesion between bitumen and aggregates.

A Review on Vehicle Tire Elastomers and Tire Wear Particles: Composition, Degradation Mechanisms, Analytical Methods, and Predictive Multiscale Computational Modeling

open access: yesAdvances in Polymer Technology, Volume 2026, Issue 1, 2026.
The study of the properties, chemical composition, and degradation patterns of rubber materials used in vehicle tires remains a complex and interdisciplinary task. Rubber for tires—more precisely, complex mixtures of elastomers containing fillers, plasticizers, binders, and other additives—is a condensed chemically active material, the composition and ...

Enhancing In Situ Burning With Ferrocene for Improved Combustion and Reduced Smoke Production

open access: yesEnergy Science &Engineering, Volume 13, Issue 12, Page 5949-5969, December 2025.
ABSTRACT In situ burning (ISB) is an efficient response strategy for oil spills; however, incomplete combustion and excessive smoke production hinder its wider application. In this study, the effectiveness of using ferrocene as additives to improve the thermal behaviors and kinetics of combustion of different crude oils (Hibernia, Hebron, Dilbit and ...
