Statistical modelling and inference for a class of bivariate and related distributions / Ng Choung Min [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
This thesis considers bivariate extension of the Meixner class of distributions by the method of generalized trivariate reduction so that the marginal distributions have different parameters; in particular, a new bivariate negative binomial (BNB ...

Unpacking early risks for peer victimization: A network analysis of early temperament and polygenic risk scores

open access: yesJCPP Advances, EarlyView.
Abstract Background Children who show difficult temperament are at risk of peer victimisation, which in turn associates with numerous negative outcomes later in life. We used network analysis to examine whether specific aspects of difficult temperament contributed to these associations, and whether the links were moderated by variations in genetic ...

Examining early inhibitory control and emotion regulation as predictors of childhood internalizing and externalizing problems: A longitudinal study

open access: yesJCPP Advances, EarlyView.
In a longitudinal sample (n = 94), we tested links between inhibitory control at age 4, emotion regulation (ER) at age 6, and internalizing (INT) and externalizing (EXT) problems at ages 9–10. Early inhibitory control did not predict ER or later INT/EXT (no mediation), whereas ER at 6 showed prospective associations with both outcomes.

Copulas in finance and insurance [PDF]

open access: yes, 2008
Copulas provide a potential useful modeling tool to represent the dependence structure among variables and to generate joint distributions by combining given marginal distributions. Simulations play a relevant role in finance and insurance.

A guide to modern statistical analysis of immunological data. [PDF]

open access: yes, 2007
BACKGROUND: The number of subjects that can be recruited in immunological studies and the number of immunological parameters that can be measured has increased rapidly over the past decade and is likely to continue to expand.

Maternal depression across childhood and offspring young adult depression and anxiety: Testing adolescent emotion dynamics as transdiagnostic mechanisms

open access: yesJCPP Advances, EarlyView.
Abstract Background Early exposure to maternal depression can increase risk for offspring mental health problems across the lifespan. Less is known about the transdiagnostic pathways through which maternal depression influences offspring mental health risk in young adulthood.

Multivariate Statistical Process Control Charts: An Overview

open access: yes
In this paper we discuss the basic procedures for the implementation of multivariate statistical process control via control charting. Furthermore, we review multivariate extensions for all kinds of univariate control charts, such as multivariate ...

Sharing Good News at Work to Collaborate and to Self‐Enhance: A Motivational and Reputational Perspective on Workplace Interpersonal Capitalization

open access: yesJournal of Organizational Behavior, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Employees routinely experience work‐related positive events. In the wake of these events, employees sometimes share the good news with coworkers—a phenomenon known as workplace interpersonal capitalization. Research shows that such capitalization matters for how employees feel and act.

Relationships between periodontitis, tooth loss, and metabolic syndrome indicators

open access: yesJournal of Periodontology, Volume 97, Issue 5, Page 1086-1097, May 2026.
Abstract Background This study investigates how poor oral health impacts metabolic alterations, specifically evaluating the effects of periodontitis and tooth loss, either individually or in combination, on the number of metabolic syndrome (MetS) indicators.

An alternative model for multivariate stable distributions

open access: yes, 2009
Includes bibliographical references (leaves 52-55).As the title, "An Alternative Model for Multivariate Stable Distributions", depicts, this thesis draws from the methodology of [J36] and derives an alternative to the sub-Gaussian alpha-stable ...
