A Workflow to Accelerate Microstructure‐Sensitive Fatigue Life Predictions

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
This study introduces a workflow to accelerate predictions of microstructure‐sensitive fatigue life. Results from frameworks with varying levels of simplification are benchmarked against published reference results. The analysis reveals a trade‐off between accuracy and model complexity, offering researchers a practical guide for selecting the optimal ...

A Simplified Laminar Flow Model for the Pultrusion of Glass Fiber/Polyethylene Terephthalate Commingled Yarns

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
A simplified thermoplastic pultrusion model is developed to predict thermal fields in glass fiber/polyethylene terephthalate (GF/PET) composites with reduced computational cost. By combining effective material homogenization, validation against literature data, and Gaussian‐process‐based optimization, the study reveals how heating limits, pulling speed,

Impossibility of Black-Box Simulation Against Leakage Attacks [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
In this work, we show how to use the positive results on succinct argument systems to prove impossibility results on leakage-resilient black-box zero knowledge. This recently proposed notion of zero knowledge deals with an adversary that can make leakage

Electrochemical Behavior of Flame‐Sprayed Sc‐Doped AlCoCrFeMo High‐Entropy Alloy Coatings in 3.5% Sodium Chloride Solution

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Scandium (Sc)‐doped AlCoCrFeMo HEA coatings are fabricated via flame spraying with 0.1, 0.3, and 0.5 wt% Sc additions. Among these, the HEA‐Sc0.3 coating exhibits the highest corrosion resistance, indicated by a more positive corrosion potential and lower current density.

Gallium Microalloying in Bi–Sn Solders: Interfacial Phase Formation, Wettability, and Long‐Term Shear Reliability Under Isothermal Aging

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Gallium microalloying redirects interfacial reactions in low‐temperature Bi–Sn solders from Cu–Sn toward Cu–Ga intermetallic formation. The resulting Cu–Ga layer suppresses intermetallic growth during thermal aging, alters fracture pathways, and improves interfacial stability.

Feasibility and Limitations of the Advanced Replica Process for Bioactive Glasses

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Periodic 3D‐printed Kelvin‐cell templates enable a controlled advanced replica process for fabricating highly porous glass lattices. Across P45K9, 45S5, and 13–93, material‐dependent differences in coating, burnout, and shrinkage lead to distinct strut morphologies, while comparable final porosities of 83%–88% are retained.

DRLAttack: A Deep Reinforcement Learning-Based Framework for Data Poisoning Attack on Collaborative Filtering Algorithms

open access: yesApplied Sciences
Collaborative filtering, as a widely used recommendation method, is widely applied but susceptible to data poisoning attacks, where malicious actors inject synthetic user interaction data to manipulate recommendation results and secure illicit benefits ...
