Next‐Generation Carbon‐Based Anodes for Alkali Metal‐Ion Batteries: Recent Progress on Biphenylene and Emerging Materials

open access: yesENERGY &ENVIRONMENTAL MATERIALS, EarlyView.
Recent advances in carbon‐based anodes for alkali metal‐ion batteries are critically reviewed, with emphasis on biphenylene and other emerging carbon allotropes. Biphenylene exhibits exceptional theoretical electrochemical properties beyond conventional graphite, highlighting its strong potential as a next‐generation anode material once scalable ...

Resistance profile of herbicide-resistant Alopecurus myosuroides (black-grass) populations in Denmark

open access: yesCrop Protection, 2015
Alopecurus myosuroides Huds is one of the most important grass-weeds in North-western Europe and is also the most important herbicide-resistant weed species in European agricultural systems. Fifty-three Danish A. myosuroides populations, previously confirmed to be fenoxaprop-P resistant, were evaluated for five and two known mutation points within the ...

Characterization of Cantaloupe, Grape, Pumpkin, and Tomato Seed Oils From Xinjiang: Oxidative Stability, Volatile‐Compound Analysis, and Sensory Evaluation

open access: yesFood Chemistry International, EarlyView.
This study compares oxidative stability, fatty acid profiles, volatile compounds, and sensory attributes of four Xinjiang seed oils. Distinct aldehyde‐driven aroma patterns and compositional differences were revealed, providing a scientific basis for quality evaluation and valorization of underutilized plant seed oils in food applications.

Development of black-grass (Alopecurus myosuroides) in regard to different herbicide systems and soil management treatments

open access: yesJulius-Kühn-Archiv, 2016
In 2011, a long-term field trial started in a winter wheat monoculture at Pettenbrunn, north of Freising, to examine the population and resistance dynamic of black-grass (Alopecurus myosuroides). Four different herbicide regimes and two different tillage

Control of Black Grass Bugs (Labops Hesperius Uhler) in Northern New Mexico [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Range Management, 1978
Highlight: Insecticides applied to improved wheatgrass pastures in northern New Mexico in the springs of 1976 and 1977 were all shown to reduce population of black grass bugs significantly (P42.01). Herbage yields were decreased as much as 50% on untreated crested wheatgrass plots in 1976. Plots treated with trichlorofon produced significantly (P

Aftasten/Tantear: A sensorial, coalitional wayfinding among Muslim runners

open access: yesFeminist Anthropology, EarlyView.
Abstract Muslim recreational runners in Muslim‐minority settings that take up running as their preferred form of leisure indicate that they feel they have to navigate a sense of exclusion when running outdoors. This article explores the process of exploration and sensing in public, represented by the Dutch verb aftasten, to investigate the way Muslim ...

LXRα and PPARα Mediated Hepatic Lipid Metabolic Disruption Induced by the UV Filter EHMC in 2D and 3D HepaRG Cell Models

open access: yesFood Safety and Health, EarlyView.
Dietary UV filter EHMC induces hepatic steatosis in HepaRG cells at noncytotoxic concentrations. Mechanistically, EHMC binds nuclear receptors (LXRα, PPARα), upregulating SREBP‐1 to accelerate fatty acid synthesis. These findings highlight the potential metabolic toxicity of widespread EHMC exposure through food sources.

Delayed rainfall diminishes the positive response of soil respiration to warming

open access: yesGrassland Research, EarlyView.
Warming stimulates soil respiration and its components, while delayed rainfall suppresses them. Crucially, delayed rainfall diminishes or even reverses the positive response of soil respiration to warming by intensifying the drought stress, and autotrophic respiration is more vulnerable than heterotrophic respiration under this interaction.

Discovering the mechanism of enhanced metabolism in flufenacet resistant grass weeds

open access: yesJulius-Kühn-Archiv, 2016
Inhibitors of very long chain fatty acid synthesis (VLCFAs, HRAC group K3) including flufenacet-based products are key herbicides in weed management strategies in particular of Western European cereal growing areas.
