Sr‐doped δ‐MnO2/Nb2C composites are engineered for aqueous zinc‐ion batteries, utilizing Sr2+ doping and conductive Nb2C to enhance structural stability and ion transport. The optimized cathode delivers a 407.3 mAh g−1 capacity and excellent cycling, driven by a reversible Zn2+/H+ co‐insertion mechanism, making it suitable for flexible electronics ...

Black Coral: History of a Sustainable Fishery in Hawai'i [PDF]
The black coral fishery in Hawai'i has been sustainable for the past 40 yr. The fishery began in 1958, shortly after its discovery off Lahaina, Maui, by Jack Ackerman and Larry Windley, who later formed the company Maui Divers of Hawaii. Since that time, the black coral jewelry industry has gradually expanded and is valued in Hawai'i today at about $15

This review charts the material evolution of bifunctional electrocatalysts for rechargeable lithium‐gas batteries. It highlights the journey from heteroatom‐doped, metal‐free carbon architectures to precision‐engineered carbon‐supported single‐atom sites. The discussion focuses on mechanistic insights into how these catalysts govern reversible O2, CO2,

ABSTRACT American municipalities increasingly regulate panhandling. That regulation is controversial. The determinants of panhandling activeness are unknown, and it is doubted whether panhandling activity responds rationally to incentives. To shed light on these issues, we collect data on hundreds of panhandlers and the passersby they solicit at ...

Local Eviction Moratoria and the Spread of COVID‐19
ABSTRACT At different stages during the initial onset of the COVID‐19 pandemic, various US states and local municipalities enacted eviction moratoria. One of the main aims of these moratoria was to slow the spread of COVID‐19 infections. We deploy a semiparametric difference‐in‐differences approach with an event study specification to examine whether ...

Abstract Fiber reinforced polymer (FRP) wrapping technology is commonly used to enhance the compressive strength (CS) of reinforced concrete (RC) members. Accurate prediction of the compressive strength of FRP‐confined concrete columns is crucial for optimizing structural design and helps reduce the time and costs associated with physical testing ...

Social organization and habitat use shape the gut microbiome of a marine fish
This study provides the first evidence linking habitat use—and to a lesser extent social organization—to gut microbiome composition in a wild marine fish. The results indicate that local habitat conditions are the primary driver of microbial variation, while social effects are detectable but weak.
